Rhea-AI Filing Summary

Gunnison Copper Corp. (GUNN) intends to award restricted share units to 115 eligible permanent employees to mark its October 26, 2026 debut on NYSE American. The awards are planned to vest over 12 months from the initial listing date and will be granted after required regulatory processes and filings are completed.

The March 2026 preliminary economic assessment for the Gunnison Project reported a $2 billion NPV8%, 22.5% IRR and 3.9-year payback period. Gunnison says the assessment is preliminary and includes Inferred Mineral Resources; it cautions that Mineral Resources that are not Mineral Reserves do not have demonstrated economic viability.

Eligible permanent employees 115 employees Planned restricted share unit awards
Vesting period 12 months From the initial listing date
Annual production capacity Up to 25 million pounds of finished copper cathode Johnson Camp Mine
NPV8% $2 billion Gunnison Project preliminary economic assessment completed in March 2026
IRR 22.5% Gunnison Project preliminary economic assessment completed in March 2026
Payback period 3.9 years Gunnison Project preliminary economic assessment completed in March 2026
restricted share units financial
"planned to be in the form of restricted share units"
Restricted share units (RSUs) are a promise from a company to give an employee or service provider actual shares or cash equal to the shares after certain conditions are met, typically staying with the company for a set time or hitting performance targets. Think of them like a time-locked gift card that becomes usable only after you’ve earned it. For investors, RSUs matter because they align employee incentives with company performance and can increase the number of shares outstanding over time, diluting existing ownership and affecting earnings per share.
vesting period financial
"12-month vesting period from the initial listing date"
A vesting period is the set amount of time someone must wait before they fully own granted shares, stock options, or other equity tied to their work or an agreement; ownership increases gradually or in steps during that time. Investors care because vesting determines when insiders or employees can sell shares, which affects future supply of stock, company incentives and executive retention—think of it like unlocking ownership over installments rather than receiving it all at once.
preliminary economic assessment technical
"A preliminary economic assessment (“PEA”) was completed in March 2026"
A preliminary economic assessment is an initial analysis that estimates the potential profitability and feasibility of a project or resource, such as a new mineral deposit or development venture. It provides a rough idea of costs, benefits, and risks, helping investors decide whether to pursue more detailed studies. This early evaluation is important because it offers a snapshot of whether the project is worth further investment and development.
NPV8% financial
"NPV8% of $2 billion"
Net present value at an 8% discount (npv8%) is the sum of projected future cash flows from an investment, converted into today’s dollars using an 8% annual rate. It shows whether expected future money is worth more or less than the cost now — like comparing a stack of future paychecks to a single lump sum today after accounting for time and risk. Investors use it to decide if a project or asset is likely to create value at that assumed 8% required return.
IRR financial
"IRR of 22.5%"
IRR (Internal Rate of Return) is the annualized percentage return an investment is expected to produce based on its projected series of cash outflows and inflows; mathematically, it’s the rate that makes the present value of those cash flows balance to zero. Investors use IRR to compare and rank projects or investments—similar to comparing the interest rates on savings accounts—to judge which offers the best return for the time and risk involved.
Inferred Mineral Resources technical
"The PEA is preliminary in nature and includes Inferred Mineral Resources"
An inferred mineral resource is an estimate of the quantity and grade of minerals in the ground based on limited sampling and geological information, where confidence is low and continuity is uncertain. For investors it signals potential value but also higher risk—like a rough sketch of a hidden treasure that requires much more exploration and testing before you can reliably judge its size or economic worth.

American Workers Producing Pure American Copper

At Gunnison’s producing Johnson Camp Mine in Cochise County, Arizona, American workers mine, process and produce finished copper cathode on-site, eliminating the need for overseas smelting or refining. With annual production capacity of up to 25 million pounds of finished copper cathode, Johnson Camp is helping strengthen the domestic supply chains essential to U.S. national security, defense readiness, advanced manufacturing and next-generation technologies.

Copper supply chains from Johnson Camp Mine directly supply Amazon Web Services data center construction and key defense primes critical to U.S. national security, defense manufacturing and advanced technologies.

Gunnison is also advancing its flagship Gunnison Copper Project, located approximately 1.5 miles from Johnson Camp, representing a significant opportunity to expand domestic copper production.

From Arizona to the New York Stock Exchange

ABOUT GUNNISON COPPER

Gunnison Copper Corp. is a multi-asset pure-play copper developer and producer that controls the Cochise Mining District (the district), containing 12 known deposits within an 8 km economic radius, in the Southern Arizona Copper Belt.

Its flagship asset, the Gunnison Copper Project, has a main pit Measured and Indicated Mineral Resource containing over 846 million tons with a total copper grade of 0.33% containing 5.19 billion pounds of copper (Measured Mineral Resource of 192 million tons at 0.37% containing 1.42 billion pounds of copper and Indicated Mineral Resource of 655 million tons at 0.31% containing 3.77 billion pounds of copper).

The Strong & Harris satellite deposit, located approximately 1.9 miles from the Gunnison processing facilities, is also included in the mine plan and hosts an Inferred Mineral Resource of 76 million tons grading 0.49% total copper (0.32% CuOx) at a 0.07% cutoff, 0.56% zinc and 0.12 oz/ton silver, containing approximately 740 million pounds of copper, including 483 million pounds of oxide copper, as well as zinc (856 million pounds) and silver (9.0 million ounces).

A preliminary economic assessment (“PEA”) was completed in March 2026 for the Gunnison Project yielding robust economics including an NPV8% of $2 billion, IRR of 22.5%, and payback period of 3.9 years. It is being developed as a conventional operation with open pit mining, heap leach, and SX/EW refinery to produce finished copper cathode on-site with direct rail link. The PEA is preliminary in nature and includes Inferred Mineral Resources that are considered too speculative geologically to have the economic considerations applied to them that would enable them to be categorized as mineral reserves. There is no certainty that the conclusions reached in the PEA will be realized. Mineral Resources that are not Mineral Reserves do not have demonstrated economic viability.

In addition, Gunnison’s Johnson Camp Asset, which is now in production, is fully funded by Nuton LLC, a Rio Tinto Venture, with a production capacity of up to 25 million lbs of finished copper cathode annually.

Other significant deposits controlled by Gunnison in the district, with potential to be economic satellite feeder deposits for Gunnison Project infrastructure, include South Star, and eight other deposits.
