FAQ

AI-generated questions and answers. How Rhea-AI works. Not financial advice.

When will HSBC Holdings plc (HSBC) redeem the notes?

The redemption date for the notes is November 9, 2026. Subject to conditions and limited circumstances in the Twenty-Seventh Supplemental Indenture, the redemption amount and interest payment become due on that date, and interest ceases to accrue on and after it.

How is HSBC Holdings plc (HSBC) calculating the note redemption price?

The price will be the greater of 100% of outstanding principal and the Make-Whole Redemption Amount. That amount is based on the present values of the principal and remaining scheduled interest payments through November 3, 2027, discounted to the redemption date at the Reference Treasury Rate plus 50 basis points on a semi-annual basis, assuming a 360-day year of twelve 30-day months.

Could holders of HSBC (HSBC) notes face backup withholding?

The notice states that existing U.S. federal income tax law may require 24% backup withholding on payments to holders presenting securities for payment who have not furnished a taxpayer identification number certified as correct on a complete, valid IRS Form W-9 or applicable Form W-8 to the payer withholding agent. It also states that holders may be subject to penalties for failing to provide the number.
