record date financial
"shareholders of record as of the close of business on July 31, 2026"
The record date is the specific day when a company determines which shareholders are eligible to receive a dividend or participate in an upcoming vote. It’s like a cutoff date; if you own the stock on that day, you get the benefits or voting rights. This date matters because it decides who qualifies for certain company benefits.
ex-dividend date financial
"The ex-dividend date for market transactions was July 31, 2026"
The ex-dividend date is the date when a stock starts trading without the value of its next dividend payment included. If you buy the stock on or after this date, you won't receive that upcoming dividend; only those who owned the stock before this date are entitled to it. It matters to investors because it determines who is eligible to receive the dividend and can influence the stock’s price around that time.
withholding tax financial
"The Company has applied Japanese withholding tax at a uniform rate of 15.315%"
Withholding tax is a government-required portion of a payment—such as dividends, interest, or salary—that the payer keeps back and sends directly to tax authorities before the recipient receives the money. For investors it reduces the cash they actually get and changes the after-tax return on an investment; rates and refund or credit rules vary by country and can materially affect comparisons between similar investments, like a cashier holding part of a bill to cover taxes.
forward-looking statements regulatory
"This press release contains “forward-looking statements” within the meaning"
Forward-looking statements are predictions or plans that companies share about what they expect to happen in the future, like estimating sales or profits. They matter because they help investors understand a company's outlook, but since they are based on guesses and assumptions, they can sometimes be wrong.
foreign private issuer regulatory
"REPORT OF FOREIGN PRIVATE ISSUER PURSUANT TO RULE 13a-16"
A foreign private issuer is a company organized outside the United States that meets tests showing it is primarily foreign-controlled and therefore qualifies for a different set of U.S. reporting rules. For investors, that means the company files less frequent or differently formatted disclosures with U.S. regulators and may follow home-country accounting and governance practices, so buying its stock is like dining at a well-reviewed restaurant that follows its home kitchen’s rules instead of the local menu — you get access but should check what standards apply.
