How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

non-GAAP financial
"contains non-GAAP financial results"
Non-GAAP refers to financial measures that companies use to show their earnings or performance without including certain expenses or income that are often added back to give a different picture. It matters because it can make a company's results look better or more favorable, but it may also hide important costs, so investors need to look at both GAAP (official rules) and non-GAAP numbers to get a full understanding.
deferred revenue financial
"Deferred revenue at the end of the September 2026 quarter"
Cash a company has already received for goods or services it has promised but not yet delivered; it's recorded as a liability because the company still owes that product, service, or future revenue recognition. For investors, deferred revenue signals upcoming work or deliveries that will convert into reported sales over time and affects short-term obligations, cash flow quality, and how quickly a firm can grow recognized revenue—think of it like prepaid subscriptions or gift cards a business must honor later.
wafer fabrication equipment technical
"outgrow the wafer fabrication equipment market as the industry expands"
Wafer fabrication equipment are the machines and tools used to transform plain silicon wafers into finished semiconductor chips by applying, shaping and removing material in many precise steps—think of specialized kitchen appliances turning dough into a multi-layered pastry. Investors care because demand for these machines drives how quickly and cheaply chips can be made; equipment sales reveal capital spending trends, future chip supply capacity, and potential bottlenecks that affect company revenues and industry cycles.

Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Results
Cash, cash equivalents, and restricted cash balances increased to $7.45 billion at the end of the September 2026 quarter compared to $5.60 billion at the end of the June 2026 quarter. The increase was primarily the result of cash generated from operating activities during the quarter partially offset by cash deployed for capital return activities and capital expenditures.
Deferred revenue at the end of the September 2026 quarter increased to $2.66 billion compared to $2.43 billion as of the end of the June 2026 quarter. Lam's deferred revenue balance does not include shipments to customers in Japan, to whom control does not transfer until customer acceptance. Shipments to customers in Japan are classified as inventory at cost until the time of acceptance. The estimated future revenue from shipments to customers in Japan was approximately $468.3 million as of September 27, 2026 and $490.2 million as of June 28, 2026.
