Insights

Flat revenue with a steep earnings decline and no dividend is a notably weaker 2025 outcome.

Montauk Renewables posted 2025 revenue of $176.4M, almost unchanged year over year, but EBITDA fell 21.2% to $32.3M. Headline earnings dropped 60.4% to $4.4M, indicating higher costs, mix shifts, or other pressures on profitability.

Basic EPS decreased from $0.07 to $0.01, and headline EPS from $0.08 to $0.03, while net asset value per share inched up to $1.84. The decision not to declare a final cash dividend, in order to focus resources on developing the operations portfolio, emphasizes internal reinvestment over near-term cash returns.

Montauk Renewables’ 2025 revenue was essentially flat at $176.4 million, a 0.4% increase from $175.7 million in 2024. This indicates top-line stability, with the main changes in 2025 arising from profitability rather than sales growth.

What happened to Montauk Renewables’ earnings and EPS in 2025?

Earnings weakened significantly in 2025. Headline earnings fell to $4.4 million from $11.0 million, a 60.4% drop. Basic EPS declined to $0.01 from $0.07, while headline EPS decreased to $0.03 from $0.08, reflecting much lower profitability.

Montauk Renewables’ EBITDA declined 21.2% in 2025 to $32.3 million, down from $41.0 million in 2024. This reduction suggests higher operating costs or margin pressure, even though revenue remained broadly stable over the same period.

Where can investors access Montauk Renewables’ full 2025 audited results?

Investors can access the full audited 2025 results via the JSE SENS link, the SEC’s EDGAR site, and the company’s investor relations website, as referenced in the short-form announcement released on March 12, 2026.
