Rhea-AI Filing Summary

Nautilus Biotechnology, Inc. (NAUT) reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of $234,000 and a net loss of $15.6 million, compared with $13.6 million a year earlier. Operating expenses were $16.9 million, up 10% from $15.5 million, as higher laboratory and professional-services costs and salaries and benefits were partly offset by lower facilities expenses. Cash, cash equivalents and investments totaled $114.3 million as of September 30, 2026.

The company published a peer-reviewed Nature Methods paper on Iterative Mapping and shared initial oncology proteoform assay data, including AKT1, with a performance profile it said matched Tau. Nautilus said it advanced the proteoform pipeline for 20 assays planned through mid-2028. After quarter-end, it announced participation in SEEDS, a four-year, ARPA-H-funded research consortium, and expects to receive up to $6 million to deploy Voyager to measure proteoforms driving Alzheimer’s disease and cancer. Voyager is not yet commercially available and remains subject to significant scientific and technical development; planned instrument availability is in mid-2027.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Iterative Mapping technical
"Iterative Mapping reveals the proteoforms underlying biology and disease"
Iterative mapping is a step-by-step process of creating or improving a map, model, or plan by repeating cycles of testing, adjusting, and refining based on new information. Like a cartographer who redraws a map after each survey to make it more accurate, this approach reduces uncertainty and reveals problems early, helping managers control costs and timelines. Investors care because iterative mapping can increase the reliability of forecasts, lower the chance of costly surprises, and make project outcomes and valuations more predictable.
proteoform technical
"oncology proteoform assays"
A proteoform is a specific version of a protein that results when the same gene produces slightly different end products through small sequence differences or chemical changes after the protein is made. For investors, proteoforms matter because these subtle differences can change how a drug works, how reliably a diagnostic test detects disease, and how regulators view safety and effectiveness—similar to how different trims of the same car model can affect performance, price, and customer choice.
Early Access Program technical
"services under the Iterative Mapping Early Access Program"
An early access program lets patients receive an investigational drug or therapy before it has full regulatory approval, usually because no approved options are available or the condition is serious. For investors, these programs can signal clinical progress and potential early real‑world use or revenue, much like a limited beta release for software, but they also carry extra safety, legal and reimbursement uncertainty that can affect a company’s value.
Operating lease right-of-use assets financial
"Operating lease right-of-use assets"
An operating lease right-of-use (ROU) asset is an accounting entry that shows the value of a leased item you have the legal right to use—like a building, vehicle, or equipment—recorded on a company’s balance sheet along with the corresponding lease obligation. Investors care because it adds to reported assets and liabilities, changing measures like leverage and return on assets much like bringing a long-term rental onto the company’s financial snapshot, which can affect credit terms and valuation.
Net cash used in operating activities financial
"Net cash used in operating activities"
Net cash used in operating activities is the amount of cash a company’s core business operations consumed during a period—essentially cash paid out for everyday activities (like payroll, suppliers and rent) minus cash received from customers. Investors watch it as a measure of whether the business’s day-to-day operations are self-sustaining or draining cash, much like checking whether a household’s regular income covers its monthly bills rather than relying on savings or borrowing.

Nautilus Biotechnology Reports Third Quarter 2026 Financial Results
SEATTLE, WA, October 27, 2026 – Nautilus Biotechnology, Inc. (NASDAQ: NAUT), a company pioneering a single-molecule proteome analysis platform, today reported financial results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2026.

Third Quarter 2026 Business Highlights
•Published a peer-reviewed paper in Nature Methods showing how Iterative Mapping reveals the proteoforms underlying biology and disease, with potential to yield new biomarkers and drug targets.
•Shared first development data on oncology proteoform assays, including AKT1, at World HUPO 2026, showing a performance profile matching Tau and supporting platform extensibility.
•Advanced the proteoform pipeline needed to deliver twenty assays planned through mid-2028.
•Subsequent to quarter end, announced participation in SEEDS, a four-year, multi-center research consortium funded by ARPA-H, with Nautilus expecting to receive up to $6 million to deploy its Voyager PlatformTM to measure proteoforms driving Alzheimer’s disease and cancer.
“The third quarter marked an important step in demonstrating the power and scalability of Iterative Mapping on our Voyager platform,” said Sujal Patel, CEO of Nautilus Biotechnology. “Our seminal publication in Nature Methods highlights the unique biological insights that our technology can deliver. In addition, our proteoform expansion initiative is on-track, with early oncology assay results that demonstrate the performance we established with Tau is repeatable across additional targets. This repeatability is fundamental to our strategy of building a broad portfolio of proteoform assays, and the progress we are seeing reinforces our confidence in our technology, our development roadmap, and our planned instrument availability in the middle of 2027.”
Third Quarter 2026 Financial Results
Revenue was $0.2 million for the third quarter of 2026, primarily driven by grant revenue from the Company’s activities related to the grant awarded from The Michael J. Fox Foundation during the period, and service revenue for the sales of services under the Iterative Mapping Early Access Program.
Operating expenses were $16.9 million for the third quarter of 2026, a $1.5 million or 10% increase compared to $15.5 million for the corresponding prior year period. The increase in operating expenses is attributable to higher laboratory and professional services and higher salaries and related benefits expense, partially offset by lower facilities expenses.
Net loss was $15.6 million for the third quarter of 2026, as compared to the net loss of $13.6 million for the corresponding prior year period.

Cash, cash equivalents, and investments were $114.3 million as of September 30, 2026.
