Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

confirmed orders financial
"defines “confirmed orders” as WTS projects"
Confirmed orders are firm, legally enforceable purchase commitments from customers—usually documented by a signed contract or official purchase order—rather than tentative inquiries or quotes. For investors, confirmed orders matter because they give clearer visibility into future sales, cash flow and production needs, much like a restaurant reservation that guarantees seats and helps the owner plan staffing and supplies.
remaining performance obligations financial
"remaining performance obligations under signed WTS contracts"
Remaining performance obligations are the work a company still needs to complete for its customers, like finishing a service or delivering a product. It’s important because it shows how much future income the company has coming in from current agreements, giving a clearer picture of its ongoing business.
order book financial
"defines “order book” as unfulfilled orders outstanding"
A stock market order book is a live list of all pending buy and sell requests for a particular security, showing quantities and the prices traders are willing to trade at. Think of it as a market’s bulletin board: it reveals how much demand and supply exists at different prices, so investors can gauge liquidity, how easily a trade will fill, and how close the market is to moving the price.
non-GAAP financial measure financial
"This non-GAAP financial measure is provided"
A non-GAAP financial measure is a way companies present their financial results that excludes certain expenses or income to show how they believe their core business is performing. It matters because it can give a clearer picture of how the company is really doing, but it can also be used to make results look better than they actually are.
Net sales $179.4 million Up 18.7% year over year
Gross profit $38.2 million Up 18.8% year over year
Net income $18.2 million Up 35.0% year over year

VANCOUVER, Washington—October 28, 2026—NWPX Infrastructure, Inc. (NASDAQ: NWPX) (“NWPX Infrastructure” and the “Company”), a leading manufacturer of water-related infrastructure products, today announced its financial results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2026. The Company will broadcast its third quarter 2026 earnings conference call on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at 7:00 a.m. PT.

Management Commentary

“The third quarter of 2026 was another outstanding quarter for NWPX Infrastructure, highlighted by record financial performance across several key metrics,” said Scott Montross, President and Chief Executive Officer of NWPX Infrastructure. “We generated record quarterly revenue of $179.4 million and record gross profit, representing a consolidated gross margin of 21.3%, along with earnings per diluted share of $1.86. These results reflect the strength and resilience of our businesses, disciplined execution across our operations, and our continued ability to capitalize on favorable market conditions. WTS led our performance, delivering record revenue and record gross profit with a strong gross margin of 20.7%. WTS backlog including confirmed orders reached a record $435 million, even after recognizing $31.0 million in revenue associated with our NDA project during the quarter, providing excellent visibility into future production activity. Precast also delivered solid results, with revenue and gross profit exceeding the prior year, and an approximate 160-basis point improvement in gross margin to 22.9%. We are particularly encouraged by the continued growth of our data center business, which continues to represent an attractive opportunity within our Precast segment.”

Mr. Montross continued, “As we look ahead, we remain very optimistic about the strength of our business and our opportunities for continued success. Despite the typical impact of two major holidays and weather-related disruptions in the fourth quarter, we currently anticipate stronger performance than both the fourth quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026. We expect WTS backlog to remain elevated through year-end, supported by continued demand for critical water infrastructure, while our Precast business is expected to remain steady. Taken together, we believe our record backlog and attractive opportunities across our businesses position NWPX Infrastructure to conclude an exceptionally strong record year in 2026 and enter 2027 with significant momentum.”
