FAQ

What did Petrobras (PBR) announce in this Form 6-K?

Petrobras announced Board approval to join a new Brazilian economic subvention program for gasoline and road diesel producers and importers. The program was created by Provisional Measure 1,358 and is intended to complement existing diesel subvention programs in Brazil.

What is the new economic subvention program Petrobras (PBR) is joining?

The program is a Brazilian federal economic subvention for producers and importers of petroleum-based fuels, specifically gasoline and road diesel oil. It was established by Provisional Measure 1,358 of May 13, 2026, and aims to support fuel production and importation under defined legislation.

Is Petrobras’ participation in the new subvention program already effective?

Participation is not yet fully effective. Petrobras’ adherence still depends on the publication and analysis of an ordinance by the Minister of Finance and related regulations. These steps are required for the new economic subvention program’s practical implementation as outlined in Provisional Measure 1,358.

How does this new program relate to Petrobras’ existing subventions?

The new adherence adds to existing economic subvention programs already in place for road diesel oil commercialization in Brazil. Petrobras indicates the new program is complementary, expanding the framework under which the company can benefit from federal subventions tied to fuel activities in the domestic market.

Does the new subvention change Petrobras’ fuel pricing strategy?

Petrobras states that its commercial strategy remains unchanged. The company continues to consider market share, refining asset optimization, and profitability, while seeking to avoid directly transferring cyclical international price and exchange-rate volatility to Brazilian consumers in the domestic fuel market.

Why does Petrobras consider adherence to the program in its interest?

The company notes the program is optional but highlights its potential benefit, stating that adherence is compatible with its interests. It also emphasizes that joining the program preserves flexibility to implement its established commercial strategy while operating under the new federal economic subvention framework.
