How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

"adjusted EBITDA was $148 million"
Adjusted EBITDA is a way companies measure how much money they make from their core operations, like running a business, by removing certain costs or income that aren’t part of regular business activities. It helps investors see how well a company is doing without distractions from unusual expenses or gains, making it easier to compare companies or track performance over time.
constant currency financial
"The term “constant currency” means we have translated local currency revenues"
Constant currency is a way of measuring financial results that removes the effects of changes in currency exchange rates. It allows for a clearer comparison of a company's performance over time by showing what the numbers would look like if exchange rates had stayed the same. This helps investors understand whether growth comes from actual business improvements or just currency fluctuations.
free cash flow financial
"We define free cash flow as operating cash flows"
Free cash flow is the amount of money a company has left over after paying all its expenses and investing in its business, like buying equipment or updating facilities. It shows how much cash is available to reward shareholders, pay down debt, or save for future growth. This helps investors understand if a company is financially healthy and able to grow.
restricted stock units financial
"2027 award in the form of restricted stock units"
Restricted stock units are a type of company reward where employees are promised shares of stock, but they only fully own these shares after meeting certain conditions, like staying with the company for a set time. They matter because they can become valuable assets and are often used to motivate employees to help the company succeed.

November 3, 2026

SAN DIEGO, CA November 3, 2026 — QuidelOrtho Corporation (Nasdaq: QDEL) (the “Company” or “QuidelOrtho”), a leading global provider of diagnostic solutions, today announced financial results for the third quarter ended September 27, 2026.

Key Third Quarter 2026 Results:
(all comparisons are to the prior year period)

•Total revenue was $619 million, a decrease of 12% both as reported and in constant currency. Excluding respiratory, China, and the U.S. Donor Screening business, total revenue grew 2% as reported and 3% in constant currency, reflecting the underlying strength of the business.
◦Labs revenue of $353 million declined 6% both as reported and in constant currency, primarily due to lower sales in China related to recently announced changes to In Vitro Diagnostics pricing. Outside China, Labs revenue grew 3% as reported and 4% in constant currency, driven by continued strength across the business.
◦Immunohematology revenue of $142 million was flat as reported and increased 1% in constant currency. Outside China, Immunohematology revenue grew 2% as reported and 3% in constant currency.
◦Point of Care revenue of $120 million declined 27% both as reported and in constant currency due to a softer respiratory season.
•GAAP net loss was $54 million; GAAP operating loss was $8 million; adjusted EBITDA was $148 million.
•GAAP net loss margin was 8.7%; GAAP operating loss margin was 1.2%; adjusted EBITDA margin was 23.9%.
•GAAP diluted loss per share was $0.78; adjusted diluted earnings per share (“EPS”) was $0.31.
•Operating cash flow was $20 million; free cash flow was $0.3 million.

“The underlying performance of our Labs and Immunohematology businesses remained solid in the third quarter, supported by the strength and durability of our customer relationships and our large global installed base,” said Brian J. Blaser, President and Chief Executive Officer of QuidelOrtho. “While China and a softer respiratory season continue to pressure our results, we are taking decisive action to strengthen the Company through a new cost transformation and enterprise restructuring program. This program is designed to improve profitability and cash flow while evolving our operating model around the distinct needs of our customers and markets. We believe these actions will help mitigate near-term headwinds and position the Company for sustainable long-term growth.”

Cost Transformation and Restructuring Program

The Company has initiated a new cost transformation and enterprise restructuring program designed to further improve its cost structure and evolve its operating model around two focused businesses, Core Diagnostics and Point of Care Diagnostics. The new operating model is designed to increase customer focus, create clearer accountability for business performance, and better align technology development and investment priorities with the distinct needs of each business. The Company expects the program to deliver over $80 million in annual savings in 2027 and to record approximately $30 to $35 million in one-time restructuring charges in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Please see page 8 of the Third Quarter 2026 Financial Results presentation on the “Investor Relations” page of the Company’s website for the full list of assumptions on which the Company’s current 2026 financial guidance is based.

A reconciliation of forward-looking non-GAAP measures, including adjusted EBITDA, adjusted EBITDA margin and adjusted diluted EPS, to the most directly comparable GAAP measures is not provided because comparable GAAP measures for such measures are not reasonably accessible or reliable due to the inherent difficulty in forecasting and quantifying measures that would be necessary for such reconciliation. We are not, without unreasonable effort, able to reliably predict the impact of impairment charges and related tax benefits and other non-recurring adjustments. These items are uncertain, depend on various factors and may have a material impact on our future GAAP results. In addition, the Company believes any such reconciliation would imply a degree of precision and certainty that could be confusing to investors. See "Forward-Looking Statements" and "Non-GAAP Financial Measures."

Non-GAAP Financial Measures

This press release contains financial measures that are considered non-GAAP financial measures under applicable rules and regulations of the Commission, including but not limited to “constant currency total revenue changes,” “constant currency total revenue changes, excluding respiratory, China and the U.S. Donor Screening business,” “constant currency Labs revenue changes,” “constant currency Labs revenue changes, excluding China,” “constant currency Immunohematology revenue changes,” “constant currency Immunohematology revenue changes, excluding China,” “constant currency Point of Care revenue changes,” “adjusted EBITDA,” “adjusted EBITDA margin,” “adjusted diluted EPS,” “free cash flow” and other non-GAAP financial measures included in the reconciliation tables accompanying this press release. These non-GAAP financial measures should be considered supplemental to, and not a substitute for, financial information prepared in accordance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”). These non-GAAP financial measures eliminate impacts of certain non-cash, unusual or other items that the Company does not consider indicative of its ongoing operating performance, and the Company generally uses these non-GAAP financial measures to facilitate management’s financial and operational decision-making, including evaluation of the Company’s historical operating results and comparison to competitors’ operating results. The Company’s definitions of these non-GAAP measures may differ from similarly titled measures used by others. These non-GAAP financial measures reflect an additional way of viewing aspects of the Company’s operations that, when viewed with GAAP results and the reconciliations to corresponding GAAP financial measures, may provide a more complete understanding of factors and trends affecting the Company’s business. Because non-GAAP financial measures exclude the effect of items that will increase or decrease the Company’s reported results of operations, management strongly encourages investors to review the Company’s consolidated financial statements and reports filed with the Commission in their entirety. Reconciliations of the historical non-GAAP financial measures to the most directly comparable GAAP financial measures are included in the tables accompanying this press release.
