How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Filing Explained

Distributable earnings is explicitly an incomplete non-GAAP measure; quarter-end common shares outstanding were 165,168,630 as of September 30, 2026.

Ready Capital reports third-quarter 2026 results; its balance sheet lists 165,168,630 common shares issued and outstanding at September 30, 2026, versus 163,010,012 at December 31, 2025.

The company defines distributable earnings as a non-GAAP measure and says it is incomplete, should be considered alongside—not instead of—GAAP net income, and may not be comparable to similarly titled measures of other companies.

The supplemental earnings profile reports distributable EPS before realized losses of $0.09 per common share for performing CRE, $(0.01) for non-performing CRE and REO, $(0.01) for small-business lending, and $(0.28) for corporate and other.

Distributable earnings financial
"Distributable earnings is an incomplete measure of the Company's financial performance"
Distributable earnings are the portion of a company’s reported profits that management determines is safe to pay out to shareholders after accounting for cash needs, required reserves, and non-cash bookkeeping items. Think of it like the money left in your household budget after paying bills and putting aside savings — it shows what can realistically be handed out as dividends or distributions and helps investors judge how sustainable and reliable future payouts may be.
current expected credit loss reserve financial
"unrealized changes in our current expected credit loss reserve"
A current expected credit loss reserve is the amount a lender sets aside today to cover loans and other credit exposures it reasonably expects will go bad in the future, based on current information and forecasts. Investors care because a larger reserve reduces reported profits and capital available for dividends or growth, while a smaller reserve can signal greater short-term earnings but higher future credit risk—much like saving for anticipated repairs to avoid surprise expenses.
Recourse leverage financial
"total leverage of 2.8x and recourse leverage of 1.5x"
forbearance financial
"Matured and in a forbearance period"
A temporary agreement between a borrower and lender to pause, reduce or delay loan payments when the borrower is facing financial difficulty. It matters to investors because forbearance changes expected cash flows and the risk of eventual default for loans or debt-backed assets—similar to a landlord agreeing to let a tenant skip rent for a few months; it can preserve value short-term but may signal elevated credit stress.
RevPAR financial
"Room RevPAR to $271"
RevPAR, or revenue per available room, is a measure used in the hotel industry to show how much money a hotel earns from each of its rooms over a certain period. It helps investors understand how well a hotel is performing financially, similar to how a store's sales per square foot reveal its profitability. Higher RevPAR indicates better use of resources and stronger financial health.

Use of Non-GAAP Financial Information
In addition to the results presented in accordance with U.S. GAAP, this press release includes distributable earnings, formerly referred to as core earnings, which is a non-U.S. GAAP financial measure. The Company defines distributable earnings as net income adjusted for unrealized gains and losses related to certain mortgage backed securities (“MBS”) not retained by us as part of our loan origination business, realized gains and losses on sales of certain MBS, unrealized changes in our current expected credit loss reserve and valuation allowance, unrealized gains or losses on de-designated cash flow hedges, unrealized gains or losses on foreign exchange hedges, unrealized gains or losses on certain unconsolidated joint ventures, non-cash compensation expense related to our stock-based incentive plan, unrealized gains or losses on preferred equity, at fair value, unrealized gain or losses or other non-cash items related to real estate owned and one-time non-recurring gains or losses, such as gains or losses on discontinued operations, bargain purchase gains, or merger related expenses.
The Company believes that this non-U.S. GAAP financial information, in addition to the related U.S. GAAP measures, provides investors greater transparency into the information used by management in its financial and operational decision-making, including the determination of dividends. However, because distributable earnings is an incomplete measure of the Company's financial performance and involves differences from net income computed in accordance with U.S. GAAP, it should be considered along with, but not as an alternative to, the Company's net income computed in accordance with U.S. GAAP as a measure of the Company's financial performance. In addition, because not all companies use identical calculations, the Company's presentation of distributable earnings may not be comparable to other similarly-titled measures of other companies.

In calculating distributable earnings, Net Income (in accordance with U.S. GAAP) is adjusted to exclude unrealized gains and losses on MBS acquired by the Company in the secondary market but is not adjusted to exclude unrealized gains and losses on MBS retained by Ready Capital as part of its loan origination businesses, where the Company transfers originated loans into an MBS securitization and the Company retains an interest in the securitization. In calculating distributable earnings, the Company does not adjust Net Income (in accordance with U.S. GAAP) to take into account unrealized gains and losses on MBS retained by us as part of the loan origination businesses because the unrealized gains and losses that are generated in the loan origination and securitization process are considered to be a fundamental part of this business and an indicator of the ongoing performance and credit quality of the Company’s historical loan originations. In calculating distributable earnings, Net Income (in accordance with U.S. GAAP) is adjusted to exclude realized gains and losses on certain MBS securities considered to be non-distributable. Certain MBS positions are considered to be non-distributable due to a variety of reasons which may include collateral type, duration, and size.
Servicing rights relating to the Company’s small business commercial business are accounted for under ASC 860, Transfer and Servicing. In calculating distributable earnings, the Company does not exclude realized gains or losses on commercial MSRs, as servicing income is a fundamental part of Ready Capital’s business and is an indicator of the ongoing performance.
To qualify as a REIT, the Company must distribute to its stockholders each calendar year at least 90% of its REIT taxable income (including certain items of non-cash income), determined without regard to the deduction for dividends paid and excluding net capital gain. There are certain items, including net income generated from the creation of MSRs, that are included in distributable earnings but are not included in the calculation of the current year’s taxable income. These differences may result in certain items that are recognized in the current period’s calculation of distributable earnings not being included in taxable income, and thus not subject to the REIT dividend distribution requirement until future years.
The table below reconciles Net Income computed in accordance with U.S. GAAP to Distributable Earnings.

2 IMPORTANT INFORMATION FORWARD-LOOKING STATEMENTS This presentation contains statements that constitute “forward-looking statements,” as such term is defined in Section 27A of the Securities Act of 1933, as amended, and Section 21E of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended, and such statements are intended to be covered by the safe harbor provided by the same. These statements are based on management’s current expectations and beliefs and are subject to a number of trends and uncertainties that could cause actual results to differ materially from those described in the forward-looking statements; Ready Capital Corporation (the “Company”) can give no assurance that its expectations will be attained. Factors that could cause actual results to differ materially from the Company’s expectations include those set forth in the Risk Factors section of the most recent Annual Report on Form 10-K filed with the SEC and other reports filed by the Company with the SEC, copies of which are available on the SEC’s website, www.sec.gov. The Company undertakes no obligation to update these statements for revisions or changes after the date of this release, except as required by law. NON-GAAP FINANCIAL MEASURES This presentation includes certain non-GAAP financial measures, including Distributable earnings. These non-GAAP financial measures should be considered only as supplemental to, and not as superior to, financial measures in accordance with GAAP. Please refer to the Appendix for the most recent GAAP information. Beginning with the presentation for the second quarter of 2026, the Company has reclassified its CRE loan portfolio from a 'core' and 'non-core' framework to a 'performing' and 'non-performing' framework. For purposes of this presentation, 'performing' CRE loans are those that are less than 60 days past due on contractual payments, while 'non-performing' CRE loans include those 60 or more days past due on contractual payments. The prior classification identified assets targeted for disposition under the Company's 2026 balance sheet repositioning strategy, which has since been completed. Management now believes a credit-quality-based classification more accurately reflects the ongoing risk and earnings profile of the portfolio. Prior period presentations using the prior framework are not directly comparable. MARKET AND INDUSTRY DATA This presentation also contains market statistics and industry data which are subject to uncertainty and are not necessarily reflective of market conditions. These have been derived from third party sources and have not been independently verified by the Company or its affiliates. BASIS OF PRESENTATION All material presented is compiled from sources believed to be reliable and current, but accuracy cannot be guaranteed. 25 DISTRIBUTABLE EARNINGS IS GAAP NET INCOME (LOSS) EXCLUDING: 1. any unrealized gains or losses on certain MBS not retained by us as part of our loan origination businesses 2. any realized gains or losses on sales of certain MBS 3. any unrealized gains or losses on Residential MSRs from discontinued operations 4. any unrealized change in current expected credit loss reserve and valuation allowances 5. any unrealized gains or losses on de-designated cash flow hedges 6. any unrealized gains or losses on foreign exchange hedges 7. any unrealized gains or losses on certain unconsolidated joint ventures 8. any non-cash compensation expense related to stock-based incentive plan 9. any unrealized gains or losses on preferred equity, at fair value 10. any unrealized gains or losses or other non-cash items related to real estate owned 11. one-time non-recurring gains or losses, such as gains or losses on discontinued operations, bargain purchase gains, or merger related expenses APPENDIX Distributable Earnings — Definition and Methodology WHY THIS MEASURE IS PRESENTED The Company believes that this non-U.S. TREATMENT OF MBS AND MSRs In calculating Distributable Earnings, Net Income (in accordance with U.S. In addition, Net Income (in accordance with U.S. GAAP) is adjusted to exclude unrealized gains or losses on residential MSRs, held at fair value from discontinued operations. In calculating Distributable Earnings, the Company does not exclude realized gains or losses on commercial MSRs as servicing income is a fundamental part of Ready Capital’s business and is an indicator of the ongoing performance. REIT DISTRIBUTION REQUIREMENT To qualify as a REIT, the Company must distribute to its stockholders each calendar year at least 90% of its REIT taxable income (including certain items of non-cash income), determined without regard to the deduction for dividends paid and excluding net capital gain.
