OEM (original equipment manufacturer) financial
"Of that, OEM (original equipment manufacturer) sales increased 9.25%."
backlog financial
"both product lines are experiencing a backlog of several months."
A backlog is the amount of work or orders that a company has received but hasn't completed yet. It’s like a restaurant with many dishes to serve; the backlog shows how many orders are still waiting to be finished. It matters because a large backlog can indicate strong demand or potential delays in delivering products or services.
UL listed technical
"explosion proof contacts which will be UL listed for hazardous locations."
UL Listed means a product has been independently tested and certified by Underwriters Laboratories to meet specific safety standards. For investors, this is a sign that the product is less likely to cause safety failures, recalls or regulatory hurdles—similar to a trusted inspection sticker on a car that signals it passed safety checks—so it can protect brand value, help access markets and reduce legal or insurance risks.
hysteresis technical
"programmable temperature and humidity sensors with built-in hysteresis,"
Hysteresis is the tendency for an economic or market variable to remain altered after the original cause has gone away, so a temporary shock leaves a lasting effect. Think of a bent spring that does not fully return to its original shape; in economics this can show up as persistently higher unemployment, slower output, or changed investor behavior after a recession or crisis. It matters to investors because past shocks can change a company’s revenue prospects, labor costs, or market structure for the long term, not just while the shock is active.
environmental monitoring technical
"monitoring devices, which include glass break detection, tilt sensing, and environmental monitoring."
Environmental monitoring involves systematically observing and measuring aspects of the natural environment, such as air, water, soil, and ecosystems. It helps track changes or potential risks related to pollution, climate, or natural resources, allowing investors to assess the sustainability and long-term viability of companies and industries. By providing insights into environmental health, it supports informed decision-making and responsible investment choices.
