Rhea-AI Filing Summary

Sigma Lithium Corporation (SGML) says its mining and industrial operations continue normally and reports recognition as a sustainability and cleantech pioneer at UN Climate Week in New York. Sigma says Brazilian Federal Courts are reviewing its appeal in a federal judicial process; it also says a statement and filing from the regional District Attorneys’ office (MP-MG) is a request for State Judiciary review, with no definitive decision to date. Sigma says its mining rights have not been affected by ongoing legal reviews.

The Grota do Cirilo mine and Cleantech Industrial Plant have nameplate capacity to produce 330,000 tonnes of lithium oxide concentrate on an annualized basis. Phase 2 has been initiated and is designed to close to double annual production capacity to 580,000 tonnes; Phase 3 is planned to increase it to 830,000 tonnes. Sigma describes the plant as reusing 100% of water, using zero toxic chemicals, producing zero tailings and using 100% renewable electricity.

lithium oxide concentrate technical
"industrial-mineral lithium oxide concentrate in the Americas"
A processed mineral product in which lithium-bearing ore has been crushed and upgraded so its lithium content is expressed and sold as lithium oxide (commonly shown as Li2O). Think of it like turning wheat into flour: the concentrate is a stronger, more useful form of raw ore that refiners buy to make battery-grade chemicals. Investors watch its grade, quantity and delivery because those determine how much revenue a miner can earn and how reliably battery makers will get the raw material they need.
nameplate capacity technical
"nameplate capacity to produce 330,000 tonnes"
Nameplate capacity is the maximum output a power plant, factory, or piece of equipment can produce under ideal conditions, as specified by the manufacturer. Investors care because it sets the upper limit on potential revenue and growth—actual earnings depend on how often and efficiently that capacity is used, similar to a car’s top speed versus how fast you actually drive in daily traffic.
tailings technical
"zero use of toxic chemicals, zero tailings"
Tailings are the leftover rock, water and fine particles produced when ore is crushed and processed to extract metals or minerals. Think of them as the muddy residue from a kitchen filtering process: they are stored in ponds or engineered dams and can carry chemical contaminants, so they matter to investors because they represent ongoing cleanup costs, regulatory liabilities and operational risks that can affect a mining company’s finances and reputation.
mining concessions regulatory
"ownership of its mining concessions"
Mining concessions are government-granted rights to explore for and extract minerals from a specified piece of land, similar to a lease or deed that allows a business to operate on a plot. For investors they matter because these rights determine whether a company can legally access mineral reserves, how long it can operate, what fees or royalties apply, and how easily the asset can be sold or financed, all of which affect potential revenues and risks.

Brazil is a democratic country with strong rule of law, where companies and individuals have the right of legal defense and due process. The Company is exercising its right to defense within our democratic country and under legal certainty through the appropriate legal remedies, following the proper legal process, and awaits the evaluation of its defense by the competent authorities.

As such, the Company has pursued the appropriate legal remedies available under Brazilian law to preserve 19,000 jobs supporting the social well-being of their 80,000 family members across 12 municipalities in the Jequitinhonha Valley.

The Brazilian Federal Courts (“the Federal Judiciary Power”) are reviewing The Company’s appeal within the scope of the federal judicial process in question. In this context, the administrative act published by FEAM, as the state’s executive branch of power, has no legal validity, given that the matter remains submitted for the evaluation of the Federal Judiciary Power and there is still no definitive decision on the case.

Additionally, Sigma Lithium clarifies that the new press statement and filing from the regional District Attorneys’ office (“MP-MG”), constitutes another request submitted for the review of the State Judiciary, and that, to date, there is no definitive decision on a matter.

Sigma Lithium reaffirms that it conducts its activities with responsibility, transparency, and respect for institutions, maintaining its impeccable track record in sustainability with its Quintuple-Zero lithium oxide and a world record for health and safety at work, with more than 1,100 days without workplace accidents in its operations.
