Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

Rhea-AI Filing Summary

Stem, Inc. reported that it is not in compliance with NYSE continued-listing standards requiring average market capitalization of at least $50.0 million over a consecutive 30 trading-day period and stockholders’ equity of at least $50.0 million. The NYSE sent a non-compliance letter on October 20, 2026.

Stem intends to submit a business plan within 45 days of receiving the letter, describing how it expects to regain compliance within 18 months. The plan must include quarterly milestones. Stem’s common stock may continue trading on the NYSE during the cure period, subject to NYSE acceptance of the plan, quarterly review, and compliance with other listing requirements. Stem said the non-compliance does not affect its operations, SEC reporting requirements, or obligations under debt or other agreements.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Filing Explained

The furnished release adds two procedural checkpoints: Stem must notify the NYSE within 10 business days of the October 20 letter that it intends to submit a plan; after receiving the plan, the NYSE has 45 days to decide whether it reasonably demonstrates a route to compliance.

Item 3.01 Notice of Delisting or Failure to Satisfy a Continued Listing Rule or Standard; Transfer of Listing Securities
The company received a delisting notice, failed to satisfy a continued-listing rule or standard, or transferred its listing.

Financial statements, pro forma financial information, or exhibit attachments filed with this report.

Minimum stockholders’ equity $50.0 million NYSE continued-listing standard
Market-capitalization measurement period 30 consecutive trading days NYSE continued-listing standard
Business-plan submission period 45 days After receipt of the NYSE letter
Cure period 18 months After receipt of the NYSE letter
NYSE plan review period 45 days After receipt of the business plan
Notice of intent period 10 business days After receipt of the NYSE letter
average market capitalization financial
"average market capitalization of not less than $50.0 million"
stockholders’ equity financial
"stockholders’ equity of not less than $50.0 million"
Stockholders’ equity is the portion of a company’s value that belongs to its owners after subtracting what the company owes from what it owns — like the equity in a house after paying the mortgage. For investors it shows the company’s net worth and can indicate financial strength, a cushion against losses, and the amount potentially available to support dividends or reinvestment; tracking changes helps assess whether the business is building or eroding owner value.
cure period regulatory
"within 18 months after receipt of the NYSE Letter"
A cure period is a set amount of time given to a borrower, counterparty, or contracting party to fix a missed payment, breach, or other problem before more serious consequences—like penalties, higher interest, or contract termination—kick in. For investors, it matters because it creates a short grace window that can prevent immediate losses and influence the timing and likelihood of recovery; think of it like a few extra days to pay a bill before a service is cut off.
quarterly milestones regulatory
"identify specific quarterly milestones"
