Vale clarifies press reports Rio de Janeiro, August 5, 2026 – In attention to news reports published today regarding charges of
mining royalties (“CFEM”, the Financial Compensation for Mineral Exploration) by the Brazilian National Mining Agency, Vale
S.A. (“Vale” or the “Company”) clarifies that it regularly pays the CFEM, complying with both the applicable regulations
and the constitutional limits in force. Vale believes that the aforementioned charges are unfounded and will respond in due course before
the competent authorities. Further information on the matter under discussion is available in item 4.7.I.iii of the Company’s 2026
