Insights

Wipro pairs a large Olam contract with a strategic Mindsprint acquisition.

Wipro is combining a major 8-year transformation engagement with Olam Group with the acquisition of Olam’s IT arm, Mindsprint, for US$ 375 million in cash. The engagement is expected to exceed US$ 1 billion in contract value, including a committed spend of US$ 800 million.

Strategically, Wipro gains over 3,200 Mindsprint professionals and a portfolio of IP-led platforms like Farmsprint, Procuresprint and Tradesprint, deepening its farm-to-fork and supply chain capabilities. This could strengthen its position in food and agri-business transformation, though value realization will depend on effective integration and delivery.

The transaction is subject to antitrust approvals in Saudi Arabia and Australia and is targeted to close by June 30, 2026. Execution of the long-term contract and integration progress will likely be detailed in subsequent company disclosures as milestones such as closing at quarter ending Q1 FY27 are reached.
