IMDb has released four new datasets that track the popularity of movies, TV shows, and entertainment professionals across different regions, countries, and time periods, including historical data dating back to 1998. These insights come from IMDbPro STARmeter and MOVIEmeter rankings, which reflect the popularity of titles and professionals based on the page views of the more than 250 million monthly visitors to IMDb. The new datasets are as follows: “Top 1,000 Most Popular Titles on IMDb by Region,” which is available for four regions (North America; Europe, the Middle East and Africa; Latin America; and Asia Pacific) and 13 countries (United States, Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, India, Japan, Korea, Australia, and Brazil); “Top 1,000 Most Popular Names on IMDb by Region,” showing the most popular talent and entertainment professionals on IMDb in the same markets as the “Top 1,000 Most Popular Titles on IMDb by Region” dataset; “Historical Popularity Rankings for Titles,” with the top 5,000 movies and TV shows on IMDb each week, stretching back as far as 1998; and “Historical Popularity Rankings for Names,” with the top 5,000 talent and entertainment professionals on IMDb each week, stretching back as far as 1998. These datasets are updated weekly and available for companies to license in addition to the “IMDb Essential Metadata” or “IMDb and Box Office Mojo” data packages.
