Since 1997, the Alliance Coal Scholars Program has provided
All scholarship award recipients are children of Alliance Coal employees and are pursuing postsecondary education in college or vocational school programs. The Alliance Coal Scholars Program acknowledges these students' academic achievements, contributions to their communities and leadership in school activities.

The Alliance Coal Teacher Achievement Awards recognize the meaningful impact teachers have on their students' academic journeys. The top three scholarship recipients each nominated a teacher — from elementary, junior high or high school — to receive this

This year's Teacher Achievement Awards go to: Robert Bassett of Union County High School in
Scholarship America®, the nation's largest nonprofit scholarship administrator, conducts all aspects of the Alliance Coal Scholars Program, including the selection process.
