Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

DEERFIELD, Ill., Oct. 09, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- BAB, Inc. (OTCQB: BABB), announced its financial results for the third quarter ended August 31, 2026.

For the quarter ended August 31, 2026, BAB had revenues of $908,000 and net income of $227,000, or $0.03 per share, versus revenues of $769,000 and net income of $168,000, or $0.02 per share, for the same quarter last year. Total revenue increased $139,000, or 18.1%, compared to the prior-year period. The increase was primarily attributable to a $115,000 increase in marketing fund revenue, which is recognized when the related marketing fund expenses are incurred, as well as increases in royalty fee revenue of $19,000 and licensing fees and other income of $5,000. Because marketing fund revenue and expense directly offset each other in any given period, the increase in marketing fund revenue had no impact on net income.

For the nine months ended August 31, 2026, revenues were $2,435,000 and net income was $533,000, or $0.07 per share, versus revenues of $2,334,000 and net income of $438,000, or $0.06 per share, for the same period in 2025. Total revenue increased $101,000, or 4.3%, compared to the prior-year period. The increase was primarily attributable to increases of $76,000 in marketing fund revenue and $36,000 in royalty fee revenue, partially offset by a $14,000 decrease in licensing fees and other income. Marketing fund revenue is recognized when the related marketing fund expenses are incurred, and the corresponding revenue and expense offset each other with no impact on net income.

Total operating expenses for the three months ended August 31, 2026 were $607,000, compared to $550,000 for the same period in 2025, an increase of $57,000, or 10.4%. The increase was primarily attributable to a $115,000 increase in marketing fund expenses, partially offset by a $58,000 decrease in selling, general and administrative expenses. Total operating expenses for the nine months ended August 31, 2026 were $1,734,000, compared to $1,767,000 for the same period in 2025, a decrease of $33,000, or 1.9%. The decrease was primarily attributable to a $109,000 decrease in selling, general and administrative expenses, partially offset by a $76,000 increase in marketing fund expenses.
