Brookfield Business Corporation Reports Third Quarter 2026 Results
Pro forma available liquidity is approximately $2.7 billion after announced and recently closed transactions.
Sentiment and the balance of points
Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.
Rhea-AI Summary
Brookfield Business Corporation (NYSE, TSX: BBUC) reported third-quarter 2026 net income attributable to shareholders of $18 million, reversing a year-earlier loss. Earnings were $0.09 per Class A share, versus a $0.28 loss. Adjusted EBITDA, a measure excluding interest, taxes and certain other items, rose to $594 million from $575 million. Infrastructure Services declined while Industrials and Business Services improved.
Asset sales and distributions generated approximately $1.4 billion this year. The company agreed to sell another 20% of La Trobe Financial, with approximately $110 million of expected proceeds and closing expected in the first quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals. It completed the Multiplex sale and acquisitions of World Freight Company and Gregg Distributors, and agreed to acquire Reliance Worldwide with partners. Quarter-end available liquidity was approximately $2.0 billion.
How this balance works
Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.
It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.
Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Capital Recycling and Deployment
We continue to progress our capital recycling initiatives, generating approximately
- In October, we reached an agreement to sell an additional
20% interest in La Trobe Financial, our Australian asset manager and lender, at the same valuation as the27% interest sold earlier this year. Our share of proceeds from the partial sale is expected to be approximately$110 million . Together with the partial interest sold earlier this year, and distributions received to date, we have generated approximately$420 million in cumulative proceeds, representing an approximate 2x realized multiple on our invested capital in four and a half years while retaining more than half of our original ownership. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, subject to customary regulatory approvals. - Subsequent to quarter end, we closed our previously announced sale of Multiplex, our construction operation, for approximately
$500 million of cash proceeds on closing. The transaction completes our exit from our last significant legacy business, allowing us to redeploy capital into businesses more aligned with our long-term strategy to compound capital. - During the quarter, our residential mortgage insurer paid distributions, including a special distribution, of which our share was approximately
$90 million . Since our initial investment in December 2019, we have received approximately$1.2 billion of distributions from the business, representing a 1.4x realized multiple of our original investment.
We also continue to redeploy capital from mature investments into higher-returning new opportunities. During and subsequent to quarter end, we agreed to acquire Reliance Worldwide Corporation and closed our previously announced acquisitions of World Freight Company and Gregg Distributors. Across these businesses, our operational capabilities can drive meaningful margin expansion and growth in cash flow.
- In September, alongside a number of institutional partners, we agreed to acquire Reliance Worldwide Corporation, a global manufacturer of plumbing and heating solutions, with leading brands in push-to-connect fittings for plumbing systems. Subject to customary closing conditions, including shareholder, regulatory and government approvals, BBUC’s share of the equity investment is expected to be approximately
$225 million for a15% economic interest. - During the quarter, we closed our previously announced acquisition of World Freight Company, the world’s largest global air freight services provider. BBUC’s share of the equity commitment was approximately
$173 million for a25% economic interest. - Subsequent to quarter end, we closed our previously announced acquisition of Gregg Distributors, a leading industrial maintenance, repair and operations distributor primarily serving Western Canada. BBUC's share of the equity investment was approximately
$145 million for a31% economic interest.
Balance Sheet and Capital Allocation
Our balance sheet is strong, providing significant flexibility to fund growth and opportunistically return capital to shareholders.
- Since launching our share buyback program in early 2025, we have repurchased over
$335 million of shares, supported by our strong balance sheet and the substantial proceeds we have generated from our capital recycling initiatives. We remain disciplined in our approach to capital allocation and will continue to evaluate share repurchases alongside opportunities to deploy capital to fund our future growth. - We ended the quarter with approximately
$2.0 billion of available liquidity. Pro forma for announced and recently closed transactions, available liquidity is approximately$2.7 billion , providing significant flexibility to support our growth and capital allocation priorities.

The Corporation's economic ownership interest in consolidated subsidiaries and equity accounted investments excludes amounts attributable to non-controlling interests consistent with how the Corporation determines net income attributable to non-controlling interests in its unaudited interim condensed consolidated statements of operating results. The Corporation believes that Adjusted EBITDA provides a comprehensive understanding of the ability of its businesses to generate recurring earnings which allows users to better understand and evaluate the underlying financial performance of the Corporation's operations and excludes items that the Corporation believes do not directly relate to revenue earning activities and are not normal, recurring items necessary for business operations. In order to provide additional insight regarding the Corporation's operating performance over the lifecycle of an investment, Adjusted EFO includes the impact of preferred equity distributions and realized disposition gains or losses recorded in net income, other comprehensive income, or directly in equity, such as ownership changes. Adjusted EFO does not include legal and other provisions that may occur from time to time in the Corporation's operations and that are one-time or non-recurring and not directly tied to the Corporation's operations, such as those for litigation or contingencies. Adjusted EFO includes expected credit losses and bad debt allowances recorded in the normal course of the Corporation's operations. Adjusted EFO allows the Corporation to evaluate its segments on the basis of return on invested capital generated by its operations and allows the Corporation to evaluate the performance of its segments on a levered basis. |
