Actions to date expected to deliver $30.4 million in annualized savings toward the approximately $64.2 million target
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Better Home & Finance Holding Company (NASDAQ: BETR) today released Week 4 of its Better 2.0 weekly scorecard, a public record of the company’s turnaround published every Tuesday. This week, Better’s AI-powered HELOC went live with one of our largest partners, giving a large group of American homeowners a faster, simpler way to tap their home equity ahead of the holidays, whether to fund home improvements, consolidate debt, buy a new home, pay tuition or take a holiday vacation. Better also continued to execute on its cost reduction plan, increasing total realized savings to $30.4 million, well on its path towards its $64.2 million target.
Since the Week 3 scorecard published on October 27, Better has realized additional efficiencies in its corporate organization by de-layering management roles and executing additional high value expert labor tasks through enhanced use of AI agents, expected to generate $5.9 million in annualized savings, exceeding the $1.7 million goal set last week. The company has also capped vendor spend, expected to generate $1.6 million in annualized savings.
This week’s actions add $7.5 million to the $22.9 million completed in the first two weeks, bringing completed actions to $30.4 million in annualized savings as the Company works toward a target of approximately $64.2 million once all initiatives are fully implemented.
“American homeowners are sitting on over $21.4 trillion in home equity, while still paying 12% to 36% APR on credit cards and personal loans. With our partnership launch this week, tens of millions more homeowners can see what their home equity could unlock and apply for a HELOC right where they already manage their money, powered by Better. This is the growth Better 2.0 is built for: integrated platform offerings, with no upfront customer acquisition cost, and massive revenue lift for both Better and its partners,” said Vishal Garg, Founder and Head of Product, Platform and Innovation at Better. “Furthermore, four weeks in, we’re at $30.4 million in savings, and you’ll continue to receive updates every Tuesday, until we hit breakeven.”

A HELOC (home equity line of credit) is a revolving loan that lets a homeowner borrow against the value built up in their house, similar to a credit card but secured by the property. It matters to investors because HELOCs affect banks’ lending volumes, interest income and credit risk, and high consumer use or defaults can signal stress in the housing market and consumer spending, influencing related stocks and bond valuations.

Annual Percentage Rate (APR) is the yearly cost of borrowing money expressed as a percentage, combining interest and most fees into a single rate so borrowers can compare loans like comparing price tags. For investors, APR matters because it affects how much companies pay to raise capital, influences consumer demand for credit, and helps compare returns or costs across loans, bonds, and financial products — all of which can change profits and valuations.
