Now in its fifth year, Bunge’s global employee initiative encompasses hundreds of local food security, education and community partnerships

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Bunge Global SA (NYSE: BG), a premier agribusiness solutions company connecting farmers to consumers, today announced its annual World Food Day Global Volunteer Program, marking five years of community impact and collaboration. Throughout October, Bunge volunteers will join approximately 112 local partners for activities across more than 145 communities in 24 countries, advancing food security and giving back to the areas where employees live and work.

This year’s World Food Day theme, Innovate today. Nourish tomorrow, highlights how forward-thinking solutions, traditional knowledge and inclusive approaches can expand access to sufficient, diverse, safe and nutritious food while safeguarding the planet for future generations. Bunge’s volunteer teams are applying a similar approach through locally tailored activities that expand food access and create lasting local value.

From sorting and packing food to preparing meals, organizing food drives and making donations to local organizations, Bunge teams are making a difference and improving access to food in the communities where they live and work.

“World Food Day reminds us that global food security is a shared challenge, and that progress begins with practical ideas shaped by local needs,” said Gabriella Herzog, Global Social Impact Director at Bunge. “Guided by our ‘We Do What’s Right’ value, our colleagues are marking the fifth year of this program by working with local partners to help families access food and strengthen connections between farmers and communities. Together, we are helping build more resilient food systems where we live and work.”

Since its launch in 2022, Bunge’s World Food Day Global Volunteer Program has facilitated more than 500 volunteer activities worldwide. Many of those initiatives have grown into enduring partnerships that create a sustained, positive impact in communities where Bunge operates.

Observed annually on Oct. 16, World Food Day was established by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization to promote global awareness and action on food security. For Bunge, the observance is an opportunity to strengthen collaboration and advance food access and sustainability across the food value chain.
