Barton Gold (OTC:BGDFF) reported further assays from its 39,000m 'Phase 2' RC Resource upgrade drilling at the Tunkillia Gold Project in South Australia, confirming new high-grade gold mineralisation in shallow zones within the existing 'Starter Pit' outlines.

Highlighted intercepts include 24m @ 4.51 g/t Au from 47m (TKB0703) and 11m @ 5.51 g/t Au from 14m (TKB0678), with multiple metre-scale intervals exceeding 10 g/t Au. According to Barton Gold, this infill mineralisation may extend total Tunkillia mineralisation, support gold and silver JORC Resource upgrades within the May 2025 OSS pit shells, and enhance grade assumptions for the upcoming PFS, which remains on track for Q1 CY27. The company models its 'S1' and 'S2' Starter Pits to deliver about A$1.8bn operating profit over the first 2.5 years at current metal prices.

  • Final 'Phase 2' assays pending, with JORC Mineral Resource updates for gold and silver to follow

ADELAIDE, AU / ACCESS Newswire / August 30, 2026 / Barton Gold Holdings Limited (ASX:BGD)(OTC:BGDFF)(FRA:BGD3) (Barton or Company) is pleased to announce further assays from 'Phase 2' upgrade drilling at its South Australian Tunkillia Gold Project (Tunkillia).

These include broad, high-grade assays in shallow areas of Tunkillia's 'Starter Pits', supporting potential to extend total Tunkillia mineralisation, increase JORC Mineral Resources within existing May 2025 OSS optimised pit outlines, and increase the grade profile of this mineralisation in Tunkillia's upcoming PFS.

A final batch of 'Phase 2' Resource upgrade drilling assays is expected to be reported shortly. After all results have been received Barton will then prepare comprehensive and representative cross sections of assay results. Full details can be accessed in the complete announcement on the ASX website or directly by clicking here.

Commenting on the new Tunkillia assay results, Barton Managing Director Alexander Scanlon said:

"Tunkillia's 'Phase 2' drilling was expanded after early analysis of infill assays identified a potential new domain of high-grade mineralisation within its 'Starter Pit' outlines. These 'S1' and 'S2' pits drive Tunkillia's robust economics, and are modelled to yield a A$1.8bn operating profit during the first 2.5 years alone at current gold and silver prices.

"Given that the average grade driving these economics in the 'Starter Pits' is 1.05 g/t Au, the new assays are exceptional. Such mineralisation could materially boost Tunkillia's already remarkable early operating economics. We are very much looking forward to the balance of outstanding assay results, the majority of which are targeting this potential.

"We expect to report one final batch of assays shortly, and look forward to sharing Mineral Resources upgrades for both gold and silver in the coming months before completing our PFS and submitting our Mining Lease application."

FAQ

What did Barton Gold (BGDFF) announce about new drilling results at the Tunkillia Gold Project on August 30, 2026?

Barton Gold reported new Phase 2 RC infill drilling assays confirming high-grade gold mineralisation in shallow areas of Tunkillia’s Starter Pits. According to Barton Gold, intercepts include up to 24m @ 4.51 g/t Au from 47m and metre-scale intervals above 10 g/t Au.

How could the new Tunkillia drilling results impact JORC Mineral Resources for Barton Gold (BGDFF)?

The new intercepts may support extensions of Tunkillia mineralisation and upgrades to gold and silver JORC Mineral Resources. According to Barton Gold, updates will be completed after all Phase 2 assays are received and interpreted within May 2025 OSS-optimised pit outlines.

What are the economics of the Tunkillia Starter Pits mentioned by Barton Gold (BGDFF)?

Barton Gold models the S1 and S2 Starter Pits to deliver around A$1.8bn operating profit in the first 2.5 years. According to Barton Gold, this is based on an average Starter Pit grade of 1.05 g/t Au and current gold and silver prices.

When is Barton Gold (BGDFF) expecting to complete the Tunkillia PFS and Mining Lease application?

Barton Gold expects to complete the Tunkillia Pre-Feasibility Study in Q1 CY27 and then submit a Mining Lease application. According to Barton Gold, remaining Phase 2 assays and subsequent gold and silver Mineral Resource upgrades will precede PFS completion.

What high-grade assay highlights were reported from Tunkillia’s Phase 2 drilling by Barton Gold (BGDFF)?

Key highlights include 24m @ 4.51 g/t Au from 47m (including 2m @ 16.7 g/t) and 11m @ 5.51 g/t Au from 14m. According to Barton Gold, several holes returned metre-scale grades above 10 g/t Au in shallow Starter Pit zones.

What is Barton Gold’s overall production and Resource profile, including the Tunkillia Project (BGDFF)?

Barton Gold targets future production of about 150,000 oz gold per year from a 2.2Moz Au and 3.1Moz Ag JORC Resource base. According to Barton Gold, its portfolio includes Challenger, Tarcoola, Tunkillia and Wudinna plus 100% ownership of the Central Gawler Mill.

How do the new assays compare with the average grade driving Tunkillia Starter Pits economics for Barton Gold (BGDFF)?

The new intercepts locally exceed the 1.05 g/t Au average grade used for Starter Pit economics. According to Barton Gold, such higher-grade mineralisation within S1 and S2 pits could materially enhance already modelled early operating economics at current metal prices.
