Comcast Celebrates Completion of Network Expansion in Nowthen with Community Event and Veterans Memorial Grant

ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Comcast’s Xfinity announced today that nearly 13,000 new homes and businesses in Chanhassen and Nowthen, Minnesota now have access to high-speed Internet from America’s smartest and most reliable, converged network. Xfinity brings Internet, mobile, entertainment, and smart home services together in one simple, seamless solution. Chanhassen and Nowthen join more than 65 million homes and businesses nationwide with access to a fiber-powered network that fuels innovation, productivity, and everyday connection.

Residents can sign up for Xfinity services by visiting Xfinity.com and businesses can visit ComcastBusiness.com to see if their address is eligible for service. Nowthen residents can visit the Xfinity Store in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, located at 12940 Riverdale Dr. NW, Suite 800, Coon Rapids, MN 55448. Residents of Chanhassen can visit the Xfinity Store at 464 Lake Drive, Chanhassen, MN 55317.

Comcast Celebrates Completion of Nowthen Expansion
The completion of Comcast's network expansion in Nowthen will be celebrated today at a community event hosted in partnership with the Sportsman Channel and Comcast's Military and Veteran Affairs team. The Sportsman Channel’s Hunt.Fish.Feed. event, which is a national initiative focused on educating the public about providing natural resources to help combat hunger, will bring the community together to recognize the arrival of Xfinity services. As part of the celebration, Comcast will grant $7,000 to support the City of Nowthen's veterans’ memorial restoration program.

“Comcast’s work has brought reliable broadband to Nowthen, providing long-awaited connectivity for many businesses and households who have gone without dependable access for far too long,” said Mayor Shane Hybben. “This expansion was made possible through a strong partnership among Comcast, the State of Minnesota, and, most importantly, the City of Nowthen, which dedicated resources to help deliver the essential broadband infrastructure our community has been waiting for.”

Comcast’s expansion in Nowthen was made possible through partnerships with the Minnesota Office of Broadband and their Minnesota Border-to-Border Broadband grant program, Anoka County, and the City of Nowthen. In addition to building new infrastructure, Comcast also engaged with the community throughout the project by supporting local initiatives, including National Night Out and the Nowthen Heritage Festival.

Comcast Invests in Chanhassen Community
Throughout the project, Comcast has supported Chanhassen through a range of community investments, including opening a new Xfinity Store and grants to A Better Society and the Chanhassen Fire Department’s Toys for Tots campaign. Comcast also participated in local events from Fourth of July celebrations at City Center Park to sponsorship of the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres.
