Sentiment and the balance of points
Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.
Rhea-AI Summary
Commercial National Financial (CNAF) reported third-quarter net income of $692,000, a 55.2% increase from the same period in 2025.
Earnings per share rose to $0.24 from $0.16. Nine-month net income increased 27.5% to $1.693 million, or $0.60 per share versus $0.46. Net interest income increased in both periods as interest expense declined. The third-quarter-end tax-equivalent net interest margin improved to 4.00%.
September-end loans declined from December, while short-term borrowings increased and shareholders’ equity fell alongside a larger accumulated other comprehensive loss. Federal Home Loan Bank advances funded purchases of GNMA mortgage-backed securities in late September. The company repurchased 52,550 shares at an average $8.42 since August 19, 2025, through September 30, 2026; its August 2026 authorization permits repurchases of up to 114,680 shares.
How this balance works
Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.
It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.
Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.
