Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

Cardiol Therapeutics (CRDL) entered into a sales agreement with Jefferies for an at-the-market equity offering program of up to US$75 million. Common shares may be sold from time to time at prevailing market prices through ordinary brokers' transactions on Nasdaq or other U.S. trading markets. No shares will be offered or sold through the Toronto Stock Exchange or otherwise in Canada.

Cardiol intends to use net proceeds for CardiolRx development in recurrent pericarditis, including support for a New Drug Application subject to Phase III MAVERIC trial outcomes, and for CRD-38 clinical development and general expenses. The company controls the timing and extent of sales and has no obligation to sell shares, so gross proceeds could be less than US$75 million. The Toronto Stock Exchange has conditionally approved the program, and Nasdaq has been notified.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Key Terms

at-the-market offering, prospectus supplement, base shelf prospectus, form f-10
4 terms
at-the-market offering financial
"for an at-the-market offering program"
An at-the-market offering is a method companies use to sell new shares of stock directly into the open market over time, rather than all at once. This allows them to raise money gradually, similar to selling small pieces of a product instead of a large batch. For investors, it means the company can access funding more flexibly, but it may also increase the supply of shares and influence the stock’s price.
prospectus supplement regulatory
"a prospectus supplement dated November 3, 2026"
A prospectus supplement is an additional document provided alongside a company's main offering details, offering updated or extra information about a specific financial product being sold. It helps investors understand the latest terms, risks, and details of the investment, similar to how an update or revision clarifies or expands on original instructions, ensuring they have current and complete information before making a decision.
base shelf prospectus regulatory
"the Company's Canadian final base shelf prospectus"
A base shelf prospectus is a pre-approved regulatory document that lets a company register a range of securities once and then sell them to the public over time without repeating the full approval process for each offering. For investors it’s like a menu and standing permission slip: it lays out the types of securities, key risks and terms ahead of any specific sale, so buyers can assess potential dilution, timing and the company’s plans before new shares or debt hit the market.
form f-10 regulatory
"registration statement on Form F-10"
Form F-10 is a standardized prospectus document filed with Canadian securities regulators when a Canadian company offers shares or other securities to the public. It lays out the company’s business, financial results, management, and risks—like a detailed product label that helps investors compare what they’re buying and understand potential downsides. For investors, the form matters because it provides the core information needed to evaluate the safety, value and terms of a public securities offering.
