Multi-year fleet expansion combines advanced power technologies, nationwide rental distribution, and connected fleet intelligence to bridge the national power gap.

COLUMBIA, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- EquipmentShare.com Inc (Nasdaq: EQPT) ("EquipmentShare"), a leader in connected jobsite technology and one of the largest construction equipment rental providers in the United States, today announced a multi-year fleet agreement with Cummins Inc. ("Cummins"), a global leader in power solutions products. This relationship positions EquipmentShare as a key rental and distribution channel for Cummins, with expected fleet growth to 1 gigawatt of natural gas power generation capacity to support major energy projects across the United States (“U.S.”).

As the U.S. experiences a surge in industrial development and critical infrastructure, contractors face a critical bottleneck: regional utility providers are struggling to keep pace with soaring power demand. According to the North American Electric Reliability Corporation, peak electricity demand in the U.S. is projected to surge by over 220 gigawatts over the next decade. The strategic investment in Cummins power generation products, including the commitment to utilize the C1400N6C, a 60Hz continuous lean burn gas generator set capable of delivering between 1400 - 1750 kVA of power, will establish EquipmentShare as a leading provider of temporary power, microgrid, and battery energy storage solutions for mission-critical infrastructure projects nationwide.

"Combining Cummins' proven leadership in reliable, mission-critical power solutions with EquipmentShare's technology-driven distribution platform allows us to bring a gigawatt of resilient energy capacity online to high-impact jobsites when and where they need it most," said Jabbok Schlacks, founder and CEO of EquipmentShare.

By utilizing existing pipeline infrastructure where available and supplementing with virtual pipeline logistics to deliver fuel to off-grid sites, EquipmentShare provides uninterrupted power and equipment uptime across any terrain. This natural gas-led strategy delivers a cleaner alternative that can reduce total energy costs for contractors by 50% to 80% compared to traditional mobile power.

“We’re pleased to support EquipmentShare as they expand their power fleet with Cummins solutions,” said Susan Cleaver, Vice President, Global Power Generation at Cummins. “This investment highlights the ongoing need for dependable power solutions, and we’re proud to work with customers and distributors to help meet those needs.”

Key Terms

microgrid technical
A microgrid is a small, local electricity system that combines power sources (like solar panels, small generators) and storage (batteries) with controls so it can run either connected to the main utility grid or on its own during outages. For investors, microgrids matter because they reduce outage risk, can lower energy costs, enable new revenue streams (selling excess power or grid services), and reflect growing demand for resilient, decentralized energy infrastructure.
battery energy storage technical
A system that stores electrical energy in rechargeable batteries so power can be used later, like a large-scale rechargeable power bank for homes, businesses, or the electricity grid. It matters to investors because it helps smooth out supply and demand, lets operators sell power when prices are higher, backs up critical services during outages, and supports more renewable generation — all of which can create new revenue streams and reduce operational risk.
telematics technical
Telematics is the technology that collects, transmits and analyzes data from vehicles or remote equipment—such as location, speed, engine status and sensor readings—using GPS, cellular networks and onboard computers. For investors it matters because telematics turns physical assets into data-rich services, enabling new revenue streams (like usage-based insurance, fleet optimization, or predictive maintenance), reducing costs and improving risk visibility much like a fitness tracker does for health.
