3 terms
simulcast technical
"the entire package will also be simulcast live nationally on ESPN+"
A simulcast is a live event or announcement transmitted at the same time across multiple channels—such as webcast, radio, TV, or social platforms—so all viewers hear the same information simultaneously. For investors it matters because simultaneous distribution reduces the chance that some people get material news earlier than others, improving fairness and allowing everyone to react based on the same real-time information, much like multiple rooms watching the same live feed.
digital blackouts technical
"available through the ESPN app without digital blackouts"
A digital blackout is a temporary suspension or restriction of electronic communication or online services related to a company or market — for example corporate websites, social media, investor portals, or trading platforms. Organizations impose them for reasons such as regulatory quiet periods, scheduled maintenance, cybersecurity incidents, or to control the release of sensitive information. For investors it matters because a blackout can limit access to official updates, filings or trading functionality, increasing uncertainty and slowing price discovery, much like a store locking its doors for a short time.
over-the-air technical
"broadcast OVC athletic events across twenty Gray markets"
Over-the-air means sending data, software or updates wirelessly to devices without needing a physical connection or in-person visit, like receiving a new app or firmware update through your phone or car’s cellular connection. Investors care because it lets companies fix bugs, add features, or patch security remotely, reducing recall costs and boosting user experience and recurring revenue, while also introducing regulatory and cybersecurity risks that can affect value.

The Ohio Valley Conference was founded in 1948, making it the eighth-oldest Division I athletic conference. Over the years OVC teams have garnered national championships in football along with national team or individual titles in the sports of rifle, cross country, track and golf.  In the 1950s the OVC became a pioneer when Morehead State became one of the first non-traditionally Black mid-southern institutions to accept an African American student. Soon after the passing of Title IX legislation, the OVC began formulating plans for women's athletics, which began in 1977. The OVC has long been a national leader in sportsmanship and in 1995 implemented a first-of-its-kind Sportsmanship Statement, a policy that promotes principles of fair play, ethical conduct and respect for one's opponent.

The Ohio Valley Conference sponsors 19 championship sports. The league consists of nine member institutions in five states, including Eastern Illinois University, Lindenwood University, Morehead State University, Southeast Missouri State University, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, University of Southern Indiana, Tennessee State University, the University of Tennessee at Martin and Western Illinois University.
