Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Key Terms

diluted ADS, derivative instruments, restricted cash, expected credit losses, +1 more
5 terms
diluted ADS financial
"Net income per diluted ADS was RMB2.64 (US$0.39)"
Additional American Depositary Shares (ADS) created or issued in a way that reduces the percentage ownership represented by each existing ADS. Like adding more slices to a pizza while keeping the original slices the same size, dilution means each ADS represents a smaller claim on the company’s equity, earnings, and sometimes voting power, which can change per‑share metrics investors use to compare value.
derivative instruments financial
"Gain/(Loss) on derivative instruments was a loss of RMB602.7 million"
Contracts whose value is tied to the price or performance of something else—like a stock, bond, commodity, currency or market index. Think of them as a bet or an insurance policy that lets investors gain exposure, hedge risk, or speculate without owning the asset itself; their use can amplify gains or losses and affect a portfolio’s risk profile, liquidity and potential returns.
restricted cash financial
"restricted cash, current and non-current of RMB2,322.5 million"
Cash that a company holds but cannot use for day-to-day operations because it is set aside for a specific purpose—such as meeting loan covenants, serving as collateral, funding an escrow, or complying with regulations. Like money in a locked savings account earmarked for a bill, restricted cash reduces the cash available to run the business and pay dividends or debts, so investors treat it differently when assessing a company’s true short-term financial strength.
expected credit losses financial
"Reversal of expected credit losses on receivables and other assets"
Expected credit losses are an accounting estimate of how much a lender or company expects to lose when borrowers or customers don’t fully pay what they owe, combining how likely nonpayment is with how big the loss would be. Investors care because these estimates determine how much a firm must set aside from earnings as a reserve, directly affecting reported profits, balance-sheet strength and perceptions of credit risk—like setting aside a rainy-day fund for unpaid bills.
tender offer financial
"in the open market and a tender offer for a total amount"
A tender offer is a proposal made by a person or company to buy shares from existing shareholders at a set price, usually higher than the current market value, within a specific time frame. It matters to investors because it can lead to a change in ownership or control of a company, and shareholders must decide whether to sell their shares at the offered price.

XIAMEN, China, Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- High Templar Tech Limited ("High Templar" or "the Company" or "We") (NYSE: HTT), today announced its unaudited financial results for the six months ended June 30, 2026.

First Half of 2026 Financial Highlights:

  • Total revenues were RMB8.0 million (US$1.2 million), compared to RMB29.3 million for the same period of last year
  • Net income attributable to the Company's shareholders was RMB416.9 million (US$61.4 million), compared to RMB461.9 million for the same period of last year; net income per diluted ADS was RMB2.64 (US$0.39) for the first half of 2026

We continued to execute our business transition while maintaining a healthy balance sheet by pursuing efficient cash management. Moving forward, we remain focused on navigating market dynamics and capitalizing on new business opportunities in order to deliver long-term value for our shareholders.

First Half of 2026 Financial Results

Sales income and others decreased by 72.7% to RMB8.0 million (US$1.2 million) from RMB29.3 million for the first half of 2025, which was primarily due to the winding down of our last-mile delivery business. We have completely wound down the last-mile delivery business in the first half of 2026.

Total operating costs and expenses decreased by 10.0% to RMB188.1 million (US$27.7 million) from RMB209.0 million for the first half of 2025.

Cost of revenues decreased by 77.7% to RMB6.5 million (US$1.0 million) from RMB29.2 million for the first half of 2025, primarily due to the decrease in service cost as we wound down the last-mile delivery business.

General and administrative expenses increased by 61.0% to RMB183.9 million (US$27.1 million) from RMB114.2 million for the first half of 2025, primarily due to the increase in depreciation following the completion of the construction of our headquarters, loan arrangement fees related to the borrowings and employee benefit.

Research and development expenses decreased by 75.0% to RMB6.1 million (US$0.9 million) from RMB24.4 million for the first half of 2025, as a result of the decrease in staff headcount, which led to a corresponding decrease in personnel cost.

Loss from operations was RMB180.0 million (US$26.5 million), compared to RMB179.3 million for the first half of 2025.

Interest and investment income, net was RMB1,283.6 million (US$189.2 million), compared to RMB605.9 million for the first half of 2025, mainly attributable to the increase of income from investments in the first half of 2026.

Gain/(Loss) on derivative instrument was a loss of RMB602.7 million (US$88.8 million), compared to a gain of RMB77.5 million for the first half of 2025, mainly due to the decrease in quoted price of the underlying equity securities relating to the derivative instruments we held.

Net income attributable to the Company's shareholders was RMB416.9 million (US$61.4 million), compared to RMB461.9 million in the first half of 2025. Net income per diluted ADS was RMB2.64 (US$0.39).

Cash Flow

As of June 30, 2026, the Company had cash and cash equivalents of RMB3,811.5 million (US$561.7 million) and restricted cash, current and non-current of RMB2,322.5 million (US$342.3 million). Restricted cash mainly represents security deposits held in designated bank accounts for the guarantee of short-term and long-term borrowings. Such restricted cash is not available to fund the general liquidity needs of the Company.

For the first half of 2026, net cash provided by operating activities was RMB1,142.6 million (US$168.4 million), mainly attributable to proceeds from interest and investment income. Net cash used in investing activities was RMB1,752.3 million (US$258.3 million), mainly due to payments of deposits pledged as collateral for derivative instruments. Net cash used in financing activities was RMB225.2 million (US$33.2 million), mainly due to the repurchase of ADSs and partially offset by the proceeds from long-term borrowings.

Update on Share Repurchase

Our Board approved a share repurchase program in March 2024 to purchase up to US$300 million worth of Class A ordinary shares or ADSs in the next 36 months starting from June 13, 2024. From the launch of the share repurchase program on June 13, 2024 to October 13, 2026, the Company has in aggregate purchased 69.1 million ADSs in the open market and a tender offer for a total amount of approximately US$208.3 million (an average price of $3.0 per ADS) pursuant to the share repurchase program.

As of October 13, 2026, the Company had in aggregate purchased 223.4 million ADSs for a total amount of approximately US$902.5 million (an average price of $4.0 per ADS).

Subsequent events

The Company's Chairman and CEO, Mr. Luo Min, recently received a tax notice from the Xiamen Municipal Tax Bureau concerning historical equity restructurings of two PRC consolidated entities, Xiamen Qudian Technology Co., Ltd. ("Xiamen Qudian") and Xiamen Lexiang Time Technology Co., Ltd. ("Xiamen Lexiang"); under applicable PRC tax laws, these restructurings are taxable events for Mr. Luo and subject to individual income tax as "income from transfer of property". Because Mr. Luo held all of his equity interests in Xiamen Qudian and Xiamen Lexiang as nominee solely for the Company's benefit and the restructurings were carried out at the instruction of the Company, the board (with Mr. Luo abstaining) resolved that the Company should bear all related individual income tax, late surcharges, penalties and other tax costs. While discussions with relevant tax authorities are ongoing, Mr. Luo has made a tax filing in respect of tax payable of RMB790 million (approximately US$116 million), which is expected to be paid soon. The tax filing was made by Mr. Luo based on the Company's assessment of the current situation and the Company does not exclude the possibility that further taxes, late surcharges, penalties and other tax costs may be payable in connection with the restructurings of Xiamen Qudian and Xiamen Lexiang. The Company is evaluating potential impacts on other similar historical restructurings and will record accounting provisions and make further disclosures as required.
