Interparfums expands portfolio with Longchamp license, strengthening its luxury brand lineup through 2036 with first launch in 2027.
Interparfums has secured an exclusive fragrance license agreement with French luxury brand Longchamp through December 31, 2036. This strategic move augments Interparfums' already impressive portfolio of prestige fragrance licenses. The company will handle the complete value chain—creation, development, production, and distribution—with the first fragrance launch anticipated in 2027.
Longchamp brings considerable brand equity to this partnership. Founded in 1948, the Parisian Maison is primarily known for its high-quality leather goods but has successfully expanded into fashion in recent years. This established brand recognition provides Interparfums with a solid foundation for fragrance development, particularly in the luxury segment where brand heritage significantly drives consumer purchasing decisions.
The agreement aligns perfectly with Interparfums' business model of partnering with premium brands that have strong global recognition. While financial terms weren't disclosed, these licensing agreements typically involve royalty payments to the brand owner based on net sales, with Interparfums responsible for development and marketing investments.
The 11+ year timeframe of this agreement is noteworthy, demonstrating both parties' long-term commitment and Interparfums' confidence in Longchamp's enduring appeal. The 2027 launch timeline suggests thorough development of the fragrance line to ensure alignment with Longchamp's brand values of "authenticity, energy and creative curiosity."
This addition strengthens Interparfums' position in the competitive luxury fragrance market, potentially opening new distribution channels through Longchamp's existing retail network while reinforcing its presence in department stores, perfumeries, and duty-free shops worldwide.
