Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

Company’s lead candidate ENV-105 has been selected as winner of the Cancer Immunology Solution of the Year Award

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Kairos Pharma, Ltd. (NYSE American: KAPA), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company targeting drug resistance in cancer, announces that it has been named a winner of the 2026 Biotech Breakthrough Awards in the category of Cancer Immunology Solution of the Year for its work with ENV-105 targeting cancer drug resistance in metastatic prostate cancer and non-small cell lung cancer.

Kairos Pharma was recognized for its differentiated approach to targeting the biological mechanisms that allow tumors to evade treatment. Rather than developing standalone therapies, Kairos is advancing resistance-modulating treatments designed to restore and extend the effectiveness of existing cancer therapies. At the center of this strategy is ENV-105 (carotuximab), an investigational neutralizing antibody designed to inhibit pathways involved in cancer stem cells and therapy resistance. ENV-105 is being developed in combination with standard-of-care therapies with the goal of improving durability of response across multiple indications.

“Our strategy of targeting the mechanisms underlying drug resistance is an important distinction from standard drug development strategy,” said Kairos Pharma Chief Executive Officer Dr. John Yu. “We owe it to patients facing treatment-resistant disease to not just throw out initially effective treatments when the cancer becomes resistant but to focus on making effective treatments last longer. With ENV-105 and our other pipeline candidates, this novel approach is getting recognized by important third parties like the Biotech Breakthrough Awards, which we believe underscores the potential of this combination approach to address an important unmet need in treatment-resistant cancers.”

Kairos Pharma recently announced positive interim efficacy data from its ongoing Phase 2 clinical trial evaluating ENV-105 (carotuximab) in combination with apalutamide in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). The interim analysis demonstrated a statistically significant difference in progression-free survival (PFS) between all patients in the trial treated with ENV-105 plus apalutamide and those treated with apalutamide alone.

The Biotech Breakthrough Awards program recognizes the most innovative companies, technologies, and products in the global life sciences and biotechnology industries. Conducted annually by Biotech Breakthrough, a leading independent market intelligence organization, the awards celebrate excellence across biopharma, therapeutics, genomics, diagnostics, and research tools.

Key Terms

neutralizing antibody medical
A neutralizing antibody is a protein made by the immune system or delivered as a drug that binds to a virus or other pathogen and prevents it from entering cells, much like a key that jams a lock so the intruder can’t get inside. For investors, measurements of neutralizing antibodies signal how well a vaccine or therapy might work, influence regulatory decisions, and can drive market value and sales expectations for biotech and pharmaceutical products.
metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer medical
An advanced form of prostate cancer that has spread beyond the prostate to other parts of the body (metastatic) and no longer responds to treatments that lower male hormones designed to starve the tumor (castration-resistant). It matters to investors because it defines a high unmet medical need with limited treatment options, so clinical trial results, new drug approvals, or safety setbacks can sharply change the valuation and prospects of companies working in this area; think of it as a weed that has spread and become resistant to the usual weedkiller.
non-small cell lung cancer medical
A broad category of lung tumors that grow from the cells lining the airways and make up the majority of lung cancer cases; it includes several subtypes that behave and respond to treatment differently, like different models of the same car family. It matters to investors because its large patient population and variety of treatment options — surgery, traditional chemo, targeted drugs and immunotherapies — create major markets where clinical trial results, drug approvals or changing treatment guidelines can quickly affect a company’s revenue and stock value.
progression-free survival medical
Progression-free survival is the length of time during and after a treatment that a patient's disease does not get worse, measured from the start of treatment until the disease shows measurable signs of progression or the patient dies. Investors care because longer progression-free survival in clinical trials often signals that a drug is effective, improving chances of regulatory approval, market adoption, and revenue potential—think of it as a stopwatch showing how long a therapy can keep the illness at bay.
