vector signal analysis technical
Vector signal analysis is a technique for measuring and breaking down complex electronic signals into their basic parts—such as strength, timing and phase—so engineers can see how a device actually transmits and receives data. For investors, it matters because this testing helps prove product performance, find defects, meet regulatory standards and reduce time to market, all of which affect a company’s reliability, costs and competitive position.
terahertz technical
Terahertz is a measure of electromagnetic frequency equal to one trillion cycles per second, sitting between microwave and infrared on the light spectrum. For investors, terahertz technologies—used in ultra-fast wireless links, security scanners, and certain medical imaging or sensing devices—can create new product markets or regulatory and manufacturing challenges; think of it as the shift from dial‑up to broadband speeds for specialized applications.
THz technical
Thz (often written THz) denotes terahertz, a unit of frequency equal to one trillion cycles per second used to describe very high-frequency electromagnetic waves between microwave and infrared. Investors watch mentions of terahertz because usable applications—like faster wireless links, new medical or security imaging, or advanced sensors—can create new markets or give a technological edge to companies, similar to how a faster highway can boost commerce.
ASIC technical
ASIC is Australia’s corporate, markets and financial services regulator that enforces rules for companies, financial advisers and market operators; think of it as the referee and rulebook keeper for financial activity. It matters to investors because ASIC’s oversight, investigations and enforcement actions affect company credibility, legal risk and market fairness—actions that can change stock prices, investor confidence and the safety of financial products.
PAM4 technical
PAM4 is a digital signaling method that sends information by using four distinct voltage or light levels instead of the usual two, letting each transmitted symbol carry two bits of data. Think of it like a radio knob with four clear positions instead of just on/off; it boosts transmission speed without needing extra wires or spectrum but is harder to read reliably, so it matters to investors because it drives demand for higher-performance chips, better cables and optics, and can affect product costs, margins and upgrade cycles in networking and data-center markets.
oscilloscope technical
An oscilloscope is an electronic test instrument that displays how electrical signals change over time, like a seismograph that shows tremors but for voltages and currents. Investors care because companies that design, build or use complex electronics rely on oscilloscopes for product development, quality control and troubleshooting, so demand and spending on these instruments can signal R&D intensity, manufacturing health and potential revenue streams.
waveguides technical
Waveguides are physical pathways, often made of metal or glass, that direct and carry signals like light or radio waves from one point to another. They are important because they help ensure these signals travel efficiently without losing strength, which is crucial for things like internet connections, satellite communications, and radar systems.

Enhancements to Keysight’s 89600 VSA software enable AttoTude to accelerate characterization of THz radio technology for AI data centers

SANTA ROSA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS) today announced that AttoTude Inc., a provider of terahertz (THz) interconnect technology for AI and hyperscale data center applications, has adopted enhanced signal analysis capabilities in Keysight’s 89600 Vector Signal Analysis (VSA) software to accelerate development of its THz radio technology.

AttoTude is transforming data center interconnects with an ASIC-based transmission over low-loss THz waveguides solution, addressing the bandwidth, reliability, and energy efficiency challenges facing AI infrastructure. The company’s THz platform operates at frequencies up to 1 THz, with data rates reaching 225 Gbaud using advanced modulation formats including PAM4 and multi-level QAM.

Keysight’s UXR Oscilloscope and 89600 VSA software, with the VSA’s FlexFrame measurement capability, provide AttoTude with critical signal analysis tools for characterizing high-speed waveforms modulated onto THz carriers. Recent enhancements to FlexFrame include improved frequency estimation algorithms that work reliably in challenging channel conditions, streamlined predistortion and Rx equalization capabilities, and expanded modulation format support.

Dave Welch, Co-founder and CEO of AttoTude, said: “As we push the boundaries of THz communications for AI data centers, it is essential to have advanced signal analysis tools that can keep pace with our innovations. Keysight’s UXR Oscilloscope and 89600 VSA software with FlexFrame capabilities have proven invaluable in validating and evolving our THz technology. Keysight’s supportive partnership with our team significantly improved the speed and confidence of our learning cycles.”

Joachim Peerlings, Vice President and General Manager of Keysight’s Networks and Data Center Group, said: “To keep pace with the growing compute demand that is needed for AI, the industry welcomes new companies with innovative concepts that add to the breadth of solutions that Keysight enables. AttoTude represents the kind of innovative customer that drives us to continually advance our signal analysis capabilities. We are proud to enable their pioneering work in THz interconnect technology for AI applications.”
