3 terms
remotely operated vehicle technical
"Both of its Comanche remotely operated vehicle (ROV) systems are currently operating"
A remotely operated vehicle is an unmanned machine controlled from a distance by a human operator or automated system, often using a tether or wireless link; examples include underwater submersibles and surface or aerial drones. Think of it as a remote‑control robot used to inspect, repair, or gather data in places that are dangerous, deep, or hard to reach. Investors care because ROVs affect a company’s operational reach, safety profile, cost structure, and revenue opportunities in sectors like energy, marine services, infrastructure, and defense.
autonomous subsea robots technical
"a developer of autonomous subsea robots and autonomy software"
Robotic vehicles designed to operate underwater without a human onboard, using onboard sensors, software and batteries or tethered power to navigate, inspect, map or perform tasks on the seafloor and in the water column. They matter to investors because they enable companies to carry out offshore work—like inspection, maintenance, data collection and resource exploration—more cheaply, safely and at greater depth, similar to how drones changed aerial surveying and delivery.
autonomy software technical
"a developer of autonomous subsea robots and autonomy software"
Autonomy software is the computer code and algorithms that allow a machine—such as a vehicle, drone, robot, or industrial system—to perceive its surroundings, make decisions, and act without a human controlling every step; think of it as the machine’s “brain” and “eyes.” Investors care because this software determines how safe, reliable, and scalable autonomous products are, which affects sales, liability risk, regulatory approvals, and the potential for recurring service or data-driven revenue.

These bids and proposals are not included in the operating activity described in this release, and no assurance can be given that any prospective project will result in a contract or commercial activity.

"Having both Comanche ROV systems working commercially is an important operating milestone for Nauticus," said Steve Walsh, Vice President of Sales at Nauticus. "Today, we have active commercial operations in both the Northeast and Gulf Coast, with both systems and our offshore personnel supporting customer projects. The level of activity we are experiencing during the third quarter represents a meaningful improvement in utilization of our ROV assets."
