Key Terms

clia/cap-certified, cro, tumor molecular profiling, glp-1 agonist
4 terms
clia/cap-certified regulatory
"Helomics CLIA/CAP-certified clinical laboratory"
CLIA/CAP-certified means a laboratory meets U.S. federal CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) rules and has accreditation from the College of American Pathologists, confirming it follows strict quality controls, staff qualifications, equipment standards, and testing procedures for medical diagnostic work. For investors, this dual certification is like a trusted safety and quality seal that reduces regulatory and operational risk, supports insurance reimbursement and business partnerships, and increases confidence in the reliability and marketability of a lab’s test results.
cro technical
"Predictive Oncology contract research organization (CRO)"
CRO stands for Contract Research Organization, a company that helps pharmaceutical and biotech firms manage and carry out clinical trials to test new medicines. For investors, CROs are important because they enable drug companies to develop new treatments more efficiently, potentially accelerating the path to market and affecting the company's growth prospects and success.
tumor molecular profiling medical
"beyond tumor molecular profiling and chemosensitivity testing"
Analysis of a cancer tumor’s DNA, RNA, proteins, or other molecular features to identify mutations, biomarkers, and biological pathways that drive the tumor’s growth. It matters to investors because the results guide development and use of targeted drugs, diagnostics and clinical trial design—like a map that helps scientists match specific treatments to patients—affecting a therapy’s clinical prospects, regulatory path, market size and potential revenue.
glp-1 agonist medical
"beyond GLP-1 agonist side effects and Long COVID"
A GLP‑1 agonist is a drug that mimics a naturally occurring hormone involved in controlling blood sugar and appetite; think of it as a spare key that fits a body’s lock to trigger signals reducing blood sugar and slowing hunger. For investors, these medicines matter because they can treat common, long‑term conditions like diabetes and obesity, drive large prescription sales, and face close regulatory scrutiny and competitive innovation that affect company revenues and valuations.
