Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

Commercial deployment will expand global satellite-based IoT connectivity for international customers

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Momentus Inc. (NASDAQ: MNTS) (“Momentus” or the “Company”), a U.S. commercial space company specializing in satellite technology, space transportation, and in-orbit services, today announced that OQ Technology has selected Momentus to fly its 5G Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) payload on the Company’s Vigoride-9 mission, scheduled for launch in Q4 2027.

"Diverse hosted payload missions continue to demonstrate the versatility of our Vigoride platform and our ability to support innovative commercial space applications," said John Rood, Chief Executive Officer of Momentus. "We look forward to working with OQ Technology as it expands its operational satellite communications network and delivers enhanced connectivity capabilities to customers around the world."

The mission will support the continued expansion of OQ Technology's operational 5G NB-IoT satellite constellation, increasing network capacity and enhancing global service coverage for commercial and government customers worldwide. Once in orbit, the payload will communicate directly with user terminals around the globe, providing satellite-enabled connectivity services to international customers across industries requiring reliable, ubiquitous IoT communications.

The hosted payload consists of an antenna, feeder board, and payload electronics integrated aboard the Vigoride orbital service vehicle. The payload is expected to provide services over a multi-month operational mission following deployment.

The Vigoride-9 mission represents another example of how hosted payload architectures can provide a cost-effective and flexible path to orbit for commercial operators seeking to deploy operational capabilities without developing and launching dedicated spacecraft.

Narrowband IoT (NB‑IoT) is a low-power cellular communication standard designed to connect simple devices — like utility meters, sensors, and trackers — that send small amounts of data infrequently. Think of it as a lightweight, long‑range “postal service” for tiny gadgets: it keeps battery life long and network costs low while extending coverage into buildings and remote areas. Investors care because NB‑IoT can enable large-scale, low-cost Internet-of-Things deployments that drive recurring revenue for network operators, device makers, and service providers.
