MTM Critical Metals (MTMCF) has announced two significant developments in sustainable metal recovery: a breakthrough in e-waste processing and a major supply agreement. Using their proprietary Flash Joule Heating (FJH) technology, the company achieved exceptional metal recovery rates from electronic waste, including 551 g/t of gold, 2,804 g/t of silver, and 42% copper.

The company secured a five-year Letter of Intent with Dynamic Lifecycle Innovations for the supply of minimum 700 tons per annum of E-Scrap. The technology demonstrated recovery rates exceeding 95% for gold and titanium, and over 90% for silver, tin, and zinc, converting them into water-soluble metal chlorides through a single-step, acid-free process.

HOUSTON, April 9, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- MTM Critical Metals (ASX: MTM; OTCQB: MTMCF –  https://www.mtmmetals.com.au), announced a breakthrough in sustainable metal recovery, unlocking ultra-high-grade gold (551 g/t) and other valuable metals from electronic waste (E-Waste). The company also announced a Letter of Intent  for a transformative five-year supply agreement with Dynamic Lifecycle Innovations, Inc. (https://www.thinkdynamic.com), to provide a minimum of 700 tons per annum (TPA) of E-Scrap.

Metal Recovery Test Utilizing Ultra-High-Value Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Feedstock

Using the Company's proprietary Flash Joule Heating (FJH) technology, gold and silver concentrations of 551g/t and 2,804g/t respectively, copper at 42% were recovered. This exceeds traditional mining grades and highlights the economic potential of E-Scrap. More than 95% of gold and titanium were also recovered with silver, tin and zinc recovery exceeding 90% into water-soluble metal chlorides using FJH. The E-Scrap feedstock originated from end-of-life electronics, including cell phones, laptops, data processing servers and telecommunications equipment. The single-step, acid-free process eliminates toxic waste and converts metal-rich waste into water-soluble metal chlorides – without prolonged heating or acids used in traditional methods like smelting.

Long-Term E-Waste Feedstock Supply Agreement

A signed Letter of Intent (LOI) for a five-year e-waste supply agreement was signed with leading U.S.-based recycling firm Dynamic Lifecycle Innovations that calls for a minimum of 700 tons per annum (TPA) of E-Scrap to be processed utilizing FJH technology. This ensures consistent supply. The long-term agreement de-risks the commercial rollout of the technology.

Michael Walshe, Managing Director and CEO of MTM said, "Securing this supply agreement marks a pivotal milestone in MTM's commercialization journey. Reliable feedstock is fundamental to any recycling operation and this agreement ensures a scalable, long-term supply. Combined with our breakthrough gold recovery results, MTM now has both the technology and supply chain to underpin a robust commercial rollout and further strategic partnerships."

MTM Critical Metals, based in Perth, Western Australia and Houston, Texas, specializes in advanced metal recovery technologies. The company's 100% owned US subsidiary, Flash Metals USA, possesses the exclusive licensing rights to the innovative Flash Joule Heating technology, an innovative metal recovery and mineral processing method developed by researchers at Rice University. In addition, MTM holds exploration assets prospective for niobium (Nb), rare earth elements (REE), and gold, strategically located in Western Australia and Quebec.
