Mercy Earns National Honor for Excellence in Patient Experience
Mercy was named the top large health system for Excellence in Patient Experience by NRC Health for the fourth consecutive year, based on patient recommendation ratings collected from April 1, 2024–March 31, 2025. Mercy was one of only three U.S. health systems to earn the designation in 2025 and captures feedback from more than 1.25 million patients annually through its collaboration with NRC Health and participation in NRC's Transparency program.
Mercy operates 55 acute and specialty hospitals, over 1,000 physician practice locations, more than 5,000 physicians and advanced practitioners, and 50,000 caregivers across multiple states. In fiscal 2025 Mercy provided over $500 million in free care and community benefits.

More than 1.25 million Mercy patients per year provide feedback
NRC Health's Excellence in Patient Experience Award recognizes health systems and hospitals that have demonstrated their commitment to improving patient care. Mercy was one of only three health systems throughout the country to have earned this designation in 2025.
"There's nothing more important than how we care for our patients," said Dr. John Mohart, Mercy's executive vice president and chief operating officer. "Of course, our clinical care teams are an enormous part of that care, but so are many others. From food service, pharmacy, environmental services and even volunteers who greet patients and their families, providing an excellent patient experience is in the hands of our entire team, and this honor highlights the work that goes into making it happen."
Award winners are selected based on real-time ratings from patients indicating whether or not they would recommend Mercy. One winner is honored in each of the following categories of facilities: small, medium and large health systems; small, medium and large hospitals; pediatric facilities; and clinics.
