Independent research quantifies significant cost savings, operational efficiencies and improved employee experience; newly awarded U.S. patent underscores Insight's innovation in device lifecycle intelligence

CHANDLER, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Insight Enterprises (NASDAQ: NSIT) today announced findings from a commissioned Total Economic Impact™ (TEI) study conducted by Forrester Consulting that found a three year composite organization representative of interviewed customers with experience using Insight Flex for Devices achieved a 144% return on investment (ROI), $1.6 million in net present value (NPV), $2.8 million in benefits, and less than a six-month payback period over three years.

The study comes as organizations face mounting pressure to optimize IT spending, improve employee experiences, and gain greater visibility into increasingly distributed device environments. Insight Flex for Devices helps organizations simplify device lifecycle management through a comprehensive subscription-based offering that combines procurement, deployment, support, recovery, asset intelligence and lifecycle optimization.

"Today's IT leaders are being asked to do more with less while supporting a workforce that expects seamless technology experiences," said Bob Bogle, Vice President, Global Devices Solution Line, Insight. "We believe the Forrester findings validate what our customers are experiencing every day: when organizations gain greater visibility, automation and control across the device lifecycle, they can reduce costs, improve productivity and free IT teams to focus on higher-value initiatives."

According to the study, organizations leveraging Insight Flex for Devices realized several measurable benefits, including:

  • A 50% reduction in IT labor required for device lifecycle management.
  • A 50% reduction in end-user device downtime.
  • Device lifecycle extensions of six to 12 months through improved visibility into device performance and health.
  • Device recovery rate improvements from 70% to 98%.
  • Reduced excess inventory from 10% to 3%, helping optimize hardware investments and improve asset utilization.

The study also identified unquantified benefits including improved compliance, reduced operational complexity, increased device standardization, enhanced sustainability practices, and greater visibility into asset lifecycle management.

According to a director of IT operations at a staffing and recruiting firm, who was quoted in the study, “With the combination of their advanced asset portal, the inventory reports that we get, the other reporting, and then these kinds of equipment bundles, there is a savings there because we know exactly what we have when we need to order more. We’re not carrying extra inventory for months that we don’t need.”

In addition to the study findings, Insight recently received U.S. Patent No. 12,646,027 for systems and methods related to electronic device tracking and status analysis. The patent covers technology that automates the aggregation, analysis and management of device lifecycle data from multiple systems and sources, helping organizations gain deeper visibility into device status, inventory, usage, and lifecycle events.

The patented technology supports capabilities delivered through Insight's Advanced Asset Management (AAM) solution, which aggregates data from customer environments, OEM warranty systems, leasing providers, shipping carriers, disposal partners and Insight services to create a unified view of an organization's device fleet.

Key Terms

net present value financial
Net present value is a way to measure the value of a future amount of money today. It considers how money available in the future is worth less than money now because of potential earning opportunities or inflation. Investors use it to decide whether an investment is worthwhile, aiming for projects with positive net present value, meaning they are expected to generate more value than they cost.
payback period financial
The payback period is the amount of time it takes for an investment to return the original amount of money put into it through incoming cash, like the number of months or years until you’ve ‘paid yourself back’ on a purchase. Investors use it to judge how quickly they get their capital back and how much short-term risk or liquidity is involved, but it does not account for how the value of money changes over time or for profits that come after the payback point.
device lifecycle management technical
Device lifecycle management is the coordinated process of planning, building, launching, maintaining, updating and eventually retiring physical devices—including their software, parts, regulatory paperwork and customer support. It matters to investors because strong lifecycle management lowers costs and legal risk, extends revenue through upgrades and services, and keeps products competitive and safe—like tending a fleet so each vehicle runs longer, earns more and avoids costly breakdowns or fines.
