Key Terms

waveguides, antenna feeds, low earth orbit, capital raise
4 terms
waveguides technical
"build specialized high-tech waveguides for space satellites."
Waveguides are physical pathways, often made of metal or glass, that direct and carry signals like light or radio waves from one point to another. They are important because they help ensure these signals travel efficiently without losing strength, which is crucial for things like internet connections, satellite communications, and radar systems.
antenna feeds technical
"Syntec is making advanced antenna feeds that let satellites talk"
Parts of a radio or satellite antenna system that carry the radio-frequency energy between the transmitter/receiver and the radiating elements; they include feed lines, connectors and any network that splits or combines signals for an antenna or an array. Like the pipes that deliver water to different taps, antenna feeds determine how efficiently and evenly signal power is delivered, affecting signal strength, coverage and equipment performance — factors investors watch when assessing telecom, satellite or wireless infrastructure assets.
low earth orbit technical
"communication is reliable and works perfectly in low Earth orbit."
Low Earth orbit (LEO) is the region of space close to Earth, roughly from about 160 to 2,000 kilometers above the surface, where satellites and spacecraft circle the planet quickly—think of it as a busy highway just overhead. It matters to investors because many communications, imaging and data services rely on satellites in LEO; their shorter lifespans, lower launch costs, crowded lanes and debris risks directly affect the cost, revenue potential and operational risks of companies that build, launch or use these satellites.
capital raise financial
"Following our capital raise, the retirement of commercial bank debt"
A capital raise is when a company brings in new money from investors or lenders by selling shares, debt, or other securities to fund operations, growth projects, or to pay liabilities. It matters to investors because it changes the company’s financial picture—adding cash that can enable expansion or avoid trouble, but also potentially reducing each existing owner’s share or increasing the company’s debt load, similar to putting fuel in a car to keep it running while changing who shares the ride or who pays for repairs.

ROCHESTER, NEW YORK, Aug. 26, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Syntec Optics Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: OPTX), a leading provider of deep tech for the defense, space, AI data centers, and other vibrant end-markets, today announced a new order to build specialized high-tech waveguides for space satellites. After working on it for the past six months, Syntec is now ramping up to build and ship the product every week.

Syntec is making advanced antenna feeds that let satellites talk using several different channels, all at the same time. Usually, satellites need a whole bunch of different antennas, but when you work with some of the best talent in the nation as a customer, it is all done in one. However, for this to work, the inside has to be made into a shape with super-precise curves and tunnels so the signals don't get lost or scrambled in space. Every little curve and thickness has to be exact to make sure the communication is reliable and works perfectly in low Earth orbit.

Matt Carey, vice president of business development at Syntec, said, "Because we already know how to make thousands of optics for communication satellites, we are ready to help with this urgent demand." He added, "Our team is super excited to scale production. The company continues to add several expert engineers who are ready to contribute."

"We were exceptionally pleased to welcome an industry-leading customer to our facility this week and receive the orders to scale our production line," stated Dean Rudy, Chief Financial Officer. "Our space antenna portfolio, featuring our previously announced stability product, can deliver in excess of a million in revenue annually. Following our capital raise, the retirement of commercial bank debt last quarter, and our recent transition to a local prominent audit firm, the finance infrastructure is ideally positioned to shift my team's workload towards business growth."
