Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

Buy Now and Make Offer options give buyers immediate access to more equipment and sellers more flexibility to move equipment and expand liquidity across the Ritchie Bros. marketplace.

WESTCHESTER, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Ritchie Bros., an RB Global, Inc. company (NYSE: RBA) (TSX: RBA), continues to expand the ways customers buy and sell equipment on rbauction.com. Today the company announced that "Buy Now" and "Make Offer" purchasing options are live across North America, adding more than 10,000 additional listings to rbauction.com and giving customers a choice of online bidding in unreserved auctions, fixed-price purchase with Buy Now, or submitting offers to sellers using the Make Offer format.

This launch reflects Ritchie Bros.' continued commitment to its mission of making buying and selling easy every time.

Direct Benefits for Both Sides of the Market

Customers can choose the format that fits how they buy or sell, rather than adapting to a single sales format:

  • For Sellers: Listings reach the marketplace’s registered users, with continuous 24/7 exposure. Sellers can sell through unreserved auctions, set a fixed price for more price certainty, and accept offers from buyers. This flexibility helps sellers move equipment without waiting for a scheduled auction date.
  • For Buyers: Equipment is available to buy immediately at any time through Buy Now, with the option to name their price through Make Offer, giving more opportunities to get the equipment they need, when they need it. Buyers get upfront pricing, a single account login, and support from a dedicated marketplace sales team for shipping and optional warranty coverage.

“Our goal is to continually build products that solve real problems for our customers,” said Shiv Dutt, Chief Digital and Strategy Officer at RB Global. “Buyers told us they wanted more buying options without waiting for auction day, and sellers wanted their inventory in front of more people with more ways to sell. Adding Buy Now and Make Offer to rbauction.com directly addresses both needs, with the goal of creating a more active and effective marketplace for everyone.”

Key Platform Enhancements

  • All Formats in One Place: Timed auctions and Buy Now fixed-price listings through Make Offer are now available on rbauction.com.
  • One Account: Existing marketplace customers can browse, bid, and buy across all formats without setting up a new account.
  • Dedicated Sales Support: A marketplace sales team helps buyers arrange shipping and optional warranty coverage through trusted third-party providers, added directly to their invoice.
  • Global Expansion: New formats launched first in North America, with international rollouts to follow.
