Ronbay Technology and Rock Tech Lithium sign Strategic MoU on Extensive Local Battery Materials Partnership in Europe
Rhea-AI Summary
Rock Tech Lithium (OTCQX:RCKTF) and Ronbay Technology have signed a strategic MoU to establish an integrated battery materials supply chain in Europe. The partnership centers on Rock Tech supplying battery-grade lithium hydroxide from its Guben Converter in Germany to Ronbay's European cathode production facilities.
Ronbay, a global leader in cathode active materials (CAM), will provide technical support and explore potential investment in Rock Tech's Guben facility. Ronbay's European operations include a 25,000-ton capacity plant in Konin, Poland, expected to begin commercial production in 2026. The Guben Converter aims to produce 24,000 tonnes of battery-grade lithium hydroxide annually, sufficient for over 500,000 electric vehicles.
Positive
- Strategic partnership with global CAM leader Ronbay Technology strengthens market position
- Secured potential customer for Guben Converter's lithium hydroxide production
- Technical support and potential investment from Ronbay to accelerate Guben facility development
- Geographic advantage with facilities in Germany and Poland creating efficient supply chain
Negative
- Partnership currently based on non-binding MoU, pending definitive agreements
- Guben Converter not yet operational, timing and execution risks remain
- Dependent on successful completion of Ronbay's Poland facility for full partnership benefits
- Rock Tech and Ronbay intend to build an integrated local Battery Materials Supply Chain in
Europe including a potential investment - Leading CAM producer to purchase battery-grade lithium hydroxide from Rock Tech
- Rock Tech´s Guben Converter will be developed with full backing by Ronbay
- Partnership will ensure Rock Tech's products meet customer needs
At the core of this strategic partnership is the long-term supply of battery-grade lithium hydroxide from Rock Tech to Ronbay's European cathode production facilities in order to produce battery related components for European demands. Consequentially, Ronbay offers direct support, including technical resources and potential investment, to ensure a rapid continuation of Rock Tech´s converter development in Guben,
