Key Terms

ai agents technical
AI agents are computer programs designed to perform tasks or make decisions automatically, often by learning from data and adapting to new information. They act like virtual assistants or robots that can handle complex activities without human intervention, which can help businesses and individuals save time and improve efficiency. For investors, AI agents matter because they can enhance decision-making and automate processes that influence markets and financial outcomes.
go-to-market financial
A go-to-market plan is the practical roadmap a company uses to introduce a product or service to customers, covering who the target buyers are, how the product will be sold or distributed, pricing, and the main marketing and sales messages. For investors, it shows how quickly and cost-effectively a business can win customers and generate revenue — like a launch playbook that determines whether a new offering will reach its audience and scale profitably.
snowflake cortex ai technical
Snowflake Cortex AI is a tool that helps businesses analyze large amounts of data quickly using artificial intelligence. It’s like giving companies a smart brain that can find patterns and insights faster, helping them make better decisions and improve their operations. This matters because it can give companies a competitive edge in a fast-changing market.
service-level agreement technical
A service-level agreement (SLA) is a formal contract that spells out the specific duties, performance standards, response times and remedies a service provider must meet for its customers. For investors, SLAs matter because they shape how reliably a business can deliver products or services, influence recurring revenue, potential penalties, and customer retention—think of an SLA as a performance promise or warranty that helps predict a company’s operational risk and future cash flow.
multimodal technical
Multimodal describes an approach, product, or system that uses two or more different types of inputs, methods, or channels — for example combining text, images and audio in a technology product, or blending drugs, devices and therapy in medical care. For investors, multimodal solutions can broaden market reach and competitive differentiation but also add development cost, operational complexity and regulatory hurdles; think of it like a hybrid car that offers more capabilities but requires more parts and oversight.
sql technical
Structured Query Language (SQL) is the standard language used to store, retrieve and manage data in databases — think of it as the way people ask a digital filing cabinet for specific records. For investors, SQL matters because companies use it to run financial reports, customer analytics, and operational systems; strong use or problems with SQL-driven systems can affect accuracy of reporting, speed of decision-making, security, and IT costs.
governance regulatory
Governance refers to the systems and processes that determine how an organization is directed and controlled. It involves making decisions, establishing rules, and overseeing activities to ensure the organization operates fairly, transparently, and in the best interests of its stakeholders. Good governance helps build trust and stability, which are important for investors because they indicate responsible management and reduce risks.
