Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

ATTLEBORO, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Sensata Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Sensata Technologies, has awarded $624,100 in annual grants to 49 charitable organizations across the US, including 12 new grantees. The grants help advance the Foundation’s vision to empower the next generation of engineers and support communities where Sensata employees live and work.

The awardees are US-based 501(c)(3) charitable entities, chosen from applications submitted earlier this year.

Highlights:

  • Grantees are located across California, Idaho, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Rhode Island and Vermont.
  • The Foundation increased grant funding by nearly 16% compared to 2025, with seven more nonprofit organizations receiving grants this year.
  • STEM education programs will receive 59% of the funding, and community programs will receive 41%.

“Each year, the grant program gives us an opportunity to support charitable organizations addressing a range of needs – from alleviating food insecurity and homelessness to helping young people build confidence and imagine brighter futures,” said David Britton, President, Sensata Foundation. “The generosity of our employees, together with Sensata’s support, is what makes that possible.”

Sensata employees played a role throughout the grant process, from encouraging nonprofits to apply, to volunteering on the Foundation’s cross-functional Allocations Committee, which reviewed applications and made funding recommendations.

"I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to contribute to the grantmaking process alongside colleagues," said Christine Young, who volunteered with 23 other employees on the Allocations Committee. "Supporting the Foundation in this way, in addition to being a donor, was incredibly meaningful and gave me a deeper understanding of the complex challenges nonprofits are working to address in our communities."

Grantees include California-based STEMbassadors and Rhode Island-based Franklin Farm, both long-time community partners.

“The Sensata Foundation's support has helped STEMbassadors expand our STEAM footprint at schools across Ventura, California,” said Alex Wulff, President, STEMbassadors. “Through math tutoring, CAD classes and other programs, our IDEA Center has empowered countless young STEMbassadors to invent and create as future engineers, designers and manufacturers.”

“We thank the Sensata Foundation for the grant, which will help us make the most of our new greenhouse,” said Rob Mudge, President, Franklin Farm. “It will strengthen our education programs, allow us to start our own seedlings and increase the amount of fresh food we can provide to help address food insecurity.”

This year’s awards bring total grant distributions to nearly $3.5 million since the Foundation’s inception in 2017.

501(c)(3) regulatory
A 501(c)(3) is a U.S. federal tax designation for organizations organized and operated for charitable, educational, religious, scientific or literary purposes, which exempts them from federal income tax and generally makes donations to them tax-deductible. Investors pay attention because the designation shapes how the organization raises money, what activities it can legally pursue (for example, limits on political lobbying), and how transparent and financially stable it must be—factors that affect risk, reputation, and potential partnerships.
