Vargas joins growing TPG Rise Climate Transition Infrastructure team

SAN FRANCISCO & FORTH WORTH, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- TPG Inc. (NASDAQ: TPG), a leading global alternative investment firm, announced today the appointment of Juan Diego “JD” Vargas as a Partner, serving as a senior member of the TPG Rise Climate Transition Infrastructure (“TPG Rise Climate TI”) team, effective today. Vargas will play a key role in expanding the firm’s value-add infrastructure strategy, which focuses on growing and scaling businesses and assets in essential subsectors and geographies across the climate ecosystem. He is based in New York.

Vargas brings to TPG nearly 20 years of experience investing in energy and infrastructure. Vargas began his career as an analyst at Morgan Stanley in its Financial Sponsors and Latin America Groups.

“As the world transitions to meet the energy demands and infrastructure needs of the next-generation economy, there has never been a greater need and a greater opportunity for focused and dedicated pools of capital like TPG Rise Climate Transition Infrastructure,” said Vargas. “TPG’s longstanding leadership in climate investing has created a differentiated platform that resonates deeply with investors and management teams around the world, and I’m thrilled to be joining this talented team.”

Combining JD’s leadership and experience with our value creation tool kit and broad approach to the climate sector, we continue to be well-positioned to capitalize on opportunities emerging from the rapidly evolving energy and infrastructure landscape.”
