Return to growth following a successful strategic reset
Recurring revenues reached 47% of sales, but quarterly profitability remained below the prior-year level.
Sentiment and the balance of points
Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.
Rhea-AI Summary
Truecaller (TRUBF) reported third-quarter net sales of SEK 464.0 million, down year over year but higher than the preceding quarter. Sales fell 1% versus Q3 2025, rose approximately 3% in constant currencies and increased 18% from Q2. Recurring revenues grew 26% in constant currencies to 47% of sales, versus 38% a year earlier.
Adjusted EBITDA, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization excluding non-recurring items, fell 9% to SEK 148.5 million; its margin narrowed to 32.0% from 34.7%. The quarterly net loss was SEK 22.6 million, including a SEK 92 million provision for an Indian transfer-pricing survey. Truecaller completed its acquisition of US communications platform text+. January–September sales fell 17% to SEK 1,218.9 million. The company expects short-term user-growth challenges to continue in many regions, while expressing confidence in increasing revenue per user.
How this balance works
Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.
It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.
Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

CEO Word:
Following a challenging year, I am very pleased to report that the third quarter marks a strong sequential recovery across all our revenue streams, signaling a return to growth. Our consistent focus on shifting our revenue mix towards recurring revenues is delivering clear results, while our advertising business has improved significantly on the back of our successful reset of the business.
Net sales for the quarter amounted to SEK 464.0 million, representing an 18 percent sequential growth compared to Q2, and an increase of 3 percent in constant currencies year-on-year. Supported by disciplined cost control, our underlying profitability returned to a healthy level, yielding an EBITDA excluding non-recurring items of SEK 148.5 million, equivalent to an EBITDA margin of 32.0 percent. While these results are highly encouraging, we firmly believe there is still more to harvest from the structural improvements we have made during the year.
Both our advertising business and Truecaller for Business (TfB) made material comebacks on a quarterly basis. Within Ads, we advanced the deployment of our proprietary ad tech infrastructure, and saw progressive revenue stabilization during the quarter, culminating in ad revenues shifting back to positive, albeit modest, growth year-on-year in September. Compared to Q2, ad revenues grew 23 percent.
Following our shift to a multi-partner model, message volumes for Business Messaging are now structurally higher than at the same point last year, while our core Verified Business offering continues its stable development. Net sales for TfB grew
Our consumer Premium subscription business delivers robust growth, with revenues growing 32 percent year-on-year. An area of continued focus for us.
During the quarter we completed the acquisition of text+, a subscription-led communications platform in the US with around 1.5 million monthly active users. The acquisition strengthens our group's product offering and is laying the groundwork for accelerating growth in the US market. text+ is now promoted inside Truecaller, with further integrations in both directions under way. Over time we see text+ extending Truecaller´s protection into everyday calling and messaging in the US, as well as other regions.
During Q3, we experienced a deceleration in user growth, primarily driven by a global contraction in smartphone sales alongside some product issues on our platform. Smartphone shipments have dropped 20
While the product issues are being addressed with highest priority, we expect these external growth challenges to continue in many regions in the short term as rising RAM prices make smartphones more expensive. This deceleration is anticipated to be more evident in highly price-sensitive and well penetrated markets, such as India, Nigeria and Egypt, where a larger share of growth comes from new-to-mobile users. However, in various markets in Africa, South East Asia and South- and Latin America, which have a lower Truecaller penetration we continue to see healthy growth as we have a lot of headroom to grow among existing smartphone users.
While this near-term headwind impacts user volume, we don't expect to see the same trend in our financial performance.
We are confident in our ability to lift average revenue per user (ARPU) through the suite of new product enhancements, premium services, digital consumables, text+ expansion and B2B products currently rolling out across markets. Moving forward, we will continue to introduce new ways to monetize our global user base while fully leveraging the extensive data signals at our disposal to unlock further value.
Truecaller enters the final stretch of the year with a stronger product offering, an optimized advertising matrix, and expanding global horizons. I thank our global team, users, and shareholders for their continued trust as we build a safer and more trusted communication environment worldwide. This year has been rough for all of us but I believe we've come out of it stronger than we were in 2025. We continue to believe we have a lot more to offer mobile phone users globally and we're excited about all that we're building for 2027 and beyond.
