TruGolf Holdings (TRUG) announced two new financing initiatives for TruGolf Links franchisees that are planned to use Polymath’s tokenization technology. These initiatives are tied to TruGolf’s previously announced agreement, dated August 18, 2026, to acquire Polymath, which is expected to close by the end of the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary conditions.

The first initiative is an equipment leasing plan for qualified TruGolf Links franchise candidates, funded through a tokenized offering on the Polymath platform. The second is an early-stage plan to help qualified candidates create tokenized offerings that allow investors to participate in fractional franchise ownership. Both initiatives are expected to be in place by the first quarter of next year, assuming completion of the Polymath acquisition, and are intended to address capital access challenges for franchisees.

Key Terms

regulated digital securities, tokenized financial instruments, blockchains
3 terms
regulated digital securities financial
"issuance, compliance, and lifecycle management of regulated digital securities"
Digital tokens that represent ownership or claims in assets (like equity, debt, or funds) but are issued, transferred, and governed under existing securities laws and regulatory frameworks. They matter to investors because they combine the legal protections and disclosure requirements of traditional securities with blockchain-style features such as faster settlement, automated rules, and easier fractional ownership — think of an electronic stock certificate that also has built-in, enforceable programmatic controls.
tokenized financial instruments financial
"other tokenized financial instruments"
Digital tokens that represent ownership or economic rights in traditional financial assets—such as shares, bonds, funds or debt—issued and recorded on a distributed ledger or blockchain. They matter to investors because they can change how an asset is divided, traded, settled and tracked: like a digital certificate or stake recorded on a public or private ledger, tokenization can enable fractional ownership, faster settlement and different custody and liquidity arrangements.
blockchains technical
"one of the first regulated, purpose-built blockchains"
A blockchain is a distributed digital ledger that records transactions across many computers so entries are visible to participants and very hard to alter, like a shared spreadsheet kept in sync by a network instead of one central owner. Investors pay attention because blockchains enable new business models and reduce intermediaries, affecting revenue, costs, security and regulatory risk for companies that build on or use the technology — similar to how a new infrastructure system can reshape whole industries.

New Plans Aim to Bridge the Gap in Capital for Qualified Franchisees to Grow the Franchise Business

TORONTO, Sept. 18, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- TruGolf Links Franchising, LLC ("TruGolf Links"), owned by TruGolf Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: TRUG), the leading provider of golf simulator software and hardware, announced today two new initiatives with Polymath Research Inc. ("Polymath"), a privately held Canadian technology company focused on the issuance, compliance, and lifecycle management of regulated digital securities and other tokenized financial instruments. TruGolf announced on August 18th that it had entered into an agreement to acquire Polymath. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to the satisfaction or waiver of customary closing conditions. The acquisition would create one of the first regulated, purpose-built blockchains for tokenized securities in public markets, positioning the combined company at the center of a shift in how the world's financial assets are issued, traded, and owned.

"A chronic issue in franchising is financing," said Dr. Ben Litalien, CFE, Chief Development Officer for TruGolf Links Franchising. "Given Polymath's unique platform and technology, we are working on providing an equipment leasing plan for qualified franchise candidates to access the full suite of products from TruGolf. The funding for this plan will come from a tokenized offering on the Polymath platform. This will create a critical bridge for franchisee candidates as they plan for opening a TruGolf Links franchise. We are also in the beginning stages of a plan that will support qualified candidates in developing an offering on the Polymath platform that will provide investors the opportunity to participate in fractional franchise ownership of a TruGolf Links franchise. While this has been done through traditional methods, it is exciting to bring that process forward into the tokenized marketplace."

Matt Andelman, Head of Business Development at Polymath, is excited about these two initiatives and believes these initiatives have the potential to support the continued development of TruGolf Links. "This is an amazing development for TruGolf Links to proactively provide support to its qualified franchise candidates, bridging the financial gap of ownership and market development," he said. "Our platform and expertise bring the financial marketplace within reach to a franchisee, especially those who want to be Regional Developers and build out a market with TruGolf Links."

These initiatives highlight the strong synergies between TruGolf and Polymath. The teams expect to have these initiatives in place by the first quarter of next year, assuming the completion of the Polymath acquisition.
