Aurora Node Platform Affords Comcast Greater Flexibility to Deliver Multi‑Gigabit Symmetrical Speeds and Enhanced Reliability to More Homes and Businesses

RICHARDSON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Aurora Networks, a Vistance Networks (NASDAQ: VISN) business, today announced that Comcast has begun field trials of its new, next‑generation broadband node platform. The trial is the latest step in Comcast’s industry-leading effort to roll out DOCSIS® 4.0, which delivers multi-gig symmetrical speeds, unrivalled performance, and even better reliability for residential and business customers.

FDX DOCSIS 4.0 is a cornerstone of Comcast’s broader network transformation, which combines deeply embedded fiber, distributed access, and AI-powered software and advanced hardware to dramatically expand network capacity over existing infrastructure. The new Aurora Networks’ Unified DOCSIS 4.0 Opti Max® OM6180 node, which combines support for Full Duplex (FDX) and Extended Spectrum (ESD) DOCSIS 4.0, enables Comcast to scale these advanced network capabilities more efficiently across its footprint.

Comcast has also initiated lab testing the next generation of DOCSIS 4.0 amplifiers from Aurora Networks. The new Starline® BLE® Unified DOCSIS 4.0 smart amplifier supports both FDX and ESD architectures up to 1.8 GHz, the amplifier leverages existing Starline BLE housings to provide a cost-effective, drop-in upgrade path that reduces deployment costs, installation time and network disruption.
