Experienced EMD investor brings sovereign debt, local currency, and quantitative research expertise

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Stone Harbor Investment Partners (“Stone Harbor”), a leading emerging markets debt (EMD) manager, today announced that Jared Lou, CFA, has joined its EMD team as a Portfolio Manager. Mr. Lou will focus primarily on sovereign hard currency and local currency debt strategies and will report to Stone Harbor’s Investment Oversight Team, which is comprised of the Stone Harbor’s most senior portfolio managers.

Mr. Lou brings more than 14 years’ experience in emerging markets debt investing, spanning portfolio management, sovereign credit research, frontier markets, and quantitative modeling. He joins Stone Harbor from William Blair Investment Management, where he served as a Portfolio Manager on its EMD team, co-managing its multi-asset emerging markets debt strategy. He previously held portfolio management and research roles at NN Investment Partners and Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo & Co. (GMO), where he focused particularly on Latin American sovereign debt and developed proprietary sovereign credit and relative value models.

Mr. Lou holds an MBA in finance from the MIT Sloan School of Management, an M.A. in policy economics from Tulane University, and a bachelor’s degree in economics, cum laude, also from Tulane. He is a CFA charterholder. His hire is effective November 2, 2026.
