Field Crews Begin Deployment of Ant Sensors to Image Subsurface at Robinsons River

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Aug. 05, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Vortex Energy Corp. (CSE: VRTX) (OTC: VTECF) (FSE: AA3) (“Vortex” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that field crews are mobilizing to the Robinsons River Salt Project in Newfoundland to initiate the deployment of Ambient Noise Tomography (“ANT”) sensors. This marks the start of the Company’s flagship geophysical survey designed to image the subsurface salt dome and advance the understanding of its potential for large-scale hydrogen storage.

Sensor deployment is being conducted in collaboration with the University of Alberta, CAUR Technologies, and Storm Exploration. Mobilization follows formal approval from the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Industry, Energy and Technology, as announced on July 24, 2025.

Upon arrival, crews will deploy a distributed network of sensors across the Company’s claims. These sensors are designed to passively record natural seismic vibrations, enabling the construction of high-resolution subsurface velocity models, to assist in defining the geometry of the targeted salt bodies.

“With mobilization now underway, we’re entering the most exciting phase of our present technical program,” said Paul Sparkes, CEO of Vortex Energy. “The results are anticipated to directly support drill planning as we advance the Robinsons River project.”

The ANT survey represents a major step forward in the Company’s development strategy, building upon prior research and planning (please see also news releases dated June 23, July 7, and July 17, 2025). Preliminary data will be processed following the survey, with 3D imaging and interpretations expected later this fall.
