StayFocused Frank, Jewel Ham, Bailey Hikawa, and Eric Lee of Superline Reimagine Classic Avia Silhouettes Through Personal Stories of Pride, Self-Determination, Connection, and Creative Expression

BENTONVILLE, Ark.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Avia, the American heritage brand that has recently surged in viral popularity for its accessible retro sneakers and activewear, is introducing Collab Camp, a new creator-led sneaker and apparel collection. Developed with Bimma Williams, his strategy and creative firm Bimma & Co., and four multidisciplinary creatives, the capsule will launch exclusively at Walmart in early Q1 2027. Known as one of the leading voices on collaborations in fashion and footwear, Williams and Bimma & Co. developed the strategy and creative framework for Collab Camp, bringing together creators spanning art, design, content, and streetwear to lend their distinct perspectives to Avia.

The four creators, StayFocused Frank, Jewel Ham, Bailey Hikawa, and Eric Lee of Superline, each reimagined a classic Avia silhouette and designed complementary apparel sets and accessories rooted in a personal story. Together, the four capsules explore pride and identity, self-determination, human connection, and creative expression to offer unique creative perspectives to Avia’s athletic heritage.

"The best collaborations start with people and the stories they carry, and Collab Camp proves that," said Bimma Williams. "We brought four creators into one room for 48 hours, and what was supposed to be a fast-paced design workshop turned into something that felt like summer camp. We traded stories, pushed each other's ideas, and walked away with a collection shaped as much by friendship as by design. Walmart trusted us to do things differently, and together we gave Avia, a brand with incredible history, a new chapter that's personal, a little unexpected, and made for everybody."

Each creator built their collection around a part of their story:

StayFocused Frank turned hometown pride into the Avia 5250 "For The City," a love letter to Malden, Massachusetts, aka "The Den." Inspired by family, hoops, and ’90s and 2000s athletics, it's a reminder that where you're from is always worth repping.

Fine artist Jewel Ham channeled self-determination into the Avia 5000 "Get It Out The Mud." Its rich neutrals and jewel tones are pulled straight from her paintings, and it celebrates every small win on the way to where you're headed.

Artist and industrial designer Bailey Hikawa, known for turning everyday objects into things you can't stop looking at, explored connection with the Avia 5000 "Unexpected Connection." Dots and cutouts are placed across the shoe and coordinating fashion, just unusual enough to make people ask, "what are those?"

Eric Lee of Superline designed the Avia 855 "Blank By Design" to celebrate creative expression. The all-white sneaker is left blank on purpose, so the wearer can keep it clean or make it their own.

Beyond sneakers, each creator’s capsule includes coordinating apparel and accessories that extend their individual design perspective across the collection. With sneakers priced at $30 and apparel and accessories ranging from $15 to $40, Collab Camp brings original, creator-led design to Walmart customers at an accessible price point.

“We believe that great style and quality should be within reach, and that access shouldn’t come at the expense of great design,” said Jason Jarrell, Vice President, Footwear, Walmart U.S. “Working with Bimma Williams and this talented group of creators allows us to bring customers original, story-driven sneakers with the kind of design and cultural relevance they’re looking for, at a price and scale that makes this limited-time Avia collaboration accessible.”

A first look at Collab Camp took place on October 3 and 4 at ComplexCon in Los Angeles, where attendees experienced the collection and heard directly from the participating creators about their design process.

Founded in Oregon in 1979, Avia has built a decades-long legacy in athletic footwear. Its retro silhouettes have since found a new generation of fans, propelling it to become one of Walmart’s top-selling footwear brands. Collab Camp builds on that heritage by giving a new generation of creators a canvas to reinterpret their own experiences, communities, and creative discipline.
