Busch Gardens Tampa Bay announces a transformative $40 million investment under new Park President Jeff Davis. The expansion includes the new Wild Oasis at Jungala opening May 2025, featuring kid-friendly adventures, animal encounters, and interactive play zones.

Key improvements include new animal habitats for capybaras, giant anteaters, squirrel monkeys, and meerkats, plus enhanced facilities for existing residents. The culinary experience is being elevated under Executive Chef Lavon Smith with the new Treetop Kitchen and expanded Food & Wine Festival.

The investment extends to Adventure Island water park with the new Castaway Falls interactive splash area. The park continues its streak of major additions, following Iron Gwazi (2022), Serengeti Flyer (2023), and Phoenix Rising (2024). United Parks & Resorts has announced a nationwide summer hiring event from May 5-9, 2025, aiming to fill over 5,000 positions across its seven park brands including SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Discovery Cove, Sesame Place, Water Country USA, Adventure Island and Aquatica.

The company is recruiting for seasonal, part-time and full-time roles across multiple departments including Lifeguards, Ride Operations, Food & Beverage, Retail, Guest Services, Park Quality, Ride Technician, and Entertainment. Positions are available in California, Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Employee benefits include free park admission, complimentary and discounted tickets for friends and family, in-park discounts, employee referral bonuses, and exclusive ambassador events. SeaWorld Parks announces its annual Waves of Honor program for Military Appreciation Month, offering free one-day admission to U.S. military veterans and up to three guests. Veterans can register through May 11 and visit by July 6, 2025, while active-duty military members continue receiving year-round complimentary admission.

SeaWorld Orlando has announced the opening of Expedition Odyssey, a groundbreaking Arctic adventure attraction, on May 1, 2025. This first-of-its-kind indoor experience combines cutting-edge ride technology with real-world footage of Arctic wildlife.

The attraction features a next-generation ride system with unprecedented motion range, custom-shot Arctic footage, and real animal encounters. With a height requirement of 39 inches, it's designed for all ages and includes face-to-face experiences with Arctic animals like beluga whales, seals, and walruses.

Notably, the attraction will showcase Uki, an orphaned Pacific walrus calf rescued in Alaska who arrived at SeaWorld Orlando last September. The park is currently offering a Spring Spectacular Sale on Annual Passes, which include exclusive early access to Expedition Odyssey, unlimited visits, free parking, guest passes, and discounts on food, merchandise, and special events.

SeaWorld Orlando has achieved a historic milestone with its 1,000th manatee rescue, highlighting its important role in marine conservation since 1976. As one of only three critical care facilities in the nation, SeaWorld Orlando provides comprehensive care through temperature-controlled recovery pools and specialized veterinary teams.

In 2024, the facility rescued 61 manatees and successfully rehabilitated and returned 38 to their natural habitat. Through the Manatee Rescue & Rehabilitation Partnership (MRP), SeaWorld collaborates with federal, state, and nonprofit organizations to strengthen conservation efforts across Florida.

A notable success story involves Reckless and Churro, a mother-daughter pair rescued in 2022.
